In the previous class, you have learnt to construct a circle of given radius, a line
segment of given length , a perpendicular line to a given line at a point on it or outside
it, perpendicular bisector of a line segment ,an angle of given measures, bisector of an
angle and angles of some special measures - 60° , 30°, 120°, 90° and 45°
 Recapitulation of previous knowledge , construction
of triangles.
 Exercise: 15 .1(3rd & 4th sum) Constructing a
triangle.

3) Construct a triangle XYZ in which XY= 5.5cm, YZ= 6.5cm
and ZX=7.5CM.

Steps of Construction for 3rd sum:Exercise:15.1

1)Draw a line segment XY of length 5.5cm.


2)With X as centre and with radius 7.5cm, draw
an arc .
3) With Y as centre and with radius 6.5cm ,draw
an arc to cut the previous arc.
4) Mark the intersection point as Z.
5) Join XZ and YZ.
XYZ is a required triangle.

Steps of Construction for 4th sum:Exercise:15.1

1)Draw a line segment BC of length 4cm.


2)With B as centre and with radius 4cm , draw an arc
3)With C as centre and with radius 4cm, draw an arc
to cut the previous arc.
4)Mark the intersection point as A.
5)Join AB and AC.
ABC is a required equilateral triangle.
