PRONOUNS (ĐẠI TỪ)

1. Đại từ nhân xưng: là các đại từ dùng để chỉ người, vật, nhóm người hoặc vật cụ thể. Đại từ nhân
xưng có thể làm chức năng chủ ngữ hoặc tân ngữ.
a. Chủ ngữ: đứng trước động từ được chia
Ex: She wants to have a cup of tea. (trước động từ wants)
b. Tân ngữ: đứng sau động từ hoặc giới từ
Ex: Jim sent us a postcard. (sau động từ sent)
They are talking about you. (sau giới từ about)

2. Tính từ sở hữu: đứng trước danh từ, được dùng để chỉ vật gì thuộc về người nào đó.
Ex: My father is a writer.

3. Đại từ sở hữu: đứng độc lập, được dùng để chỉ vật gì thuộc về người nào đó.
Ex: Her hair is longer than mine.
Lưu ý: a. it không có đại từ sở hữu
b. đại từ sở hữu có thể đứng sau of
Ex: a friend of mine = my friend (một người bạn của tôi)
c. đại từ sở hữu thay thế cho tính từ sở hữu + danh từ đã xuất hiện trước
Ex: Her hair is longer than mine (my hair).
