6. PROCEDURE:

Following checks would be performed for the completion of activities, in accordance with
the relevant project specifications and reference documents.

Preparation

 The work is to be conducted with approved drawings and material list documents.
 Marking should be done with reference drawing before installation.
 The route and level of cable trays shown in Grid Station area should be as per
drawing. Any deviation from the drawings shall be agreed with the Contractor and
all changes to be recorded and marked up “as built”.
 In case of any ambiguity for the activity, technical query shall be raised.

Steel Supports Installation

 Approved welder on structure according to specification and site requirements shall

carry out installation of pre-fabricated supports.
 Welded joint's to be cleaned and painted after welding job is completed.
 Cable trays shall be supported at distance of not more than 3m as per specification.
 Cable tray supports to be installed with proper anchor bolts on concrete and welded
on steel structure unless otherwise stated in drawings / specifications.
 Supports to be checked for alignment, verticality and horizontally as per layout
drawings.

Assembling / Fitting

 Fabrication work shall be carried out on cable trays during installation with proper
rectification of sharp edges and final touch up paint shall be carried out.
 All the bends, risers to be checked as per cable tray size requirement.
 Earth bonding links to be checked for tightness.

Steel Supports and Brackets Installation

 Steel supports and brackets to be fabricated and installed in accordance with the
approved construction drawings. All rough edges to be removed and bare steel to
have one coat of primer with paint coating before installation or as per project
specifications.
 Specified sizes of steelwork according to drawings to be used.
 Welding to structures shall be the main fixing medium. The prior permission to be
obtained, if no detail mentioned in the respective drawings.

representative must be sought. But these electrical supplies must be protected by
ELCBs (Earth leakage circuit breakers) at sending source side.
 All works on electrical equipment shall be in accordance with Contractor’s
representative Lock out/Tag out procedure.
 The temporary electrical network installed for job would be protected by ELCBs (Earth
