TITLE : EQUIPMENT/FURNISHINGS - GALLEY EQUIPMENT - INSPECT THE ELECTRICAL

WIRING OF THE AVIO INTERIORS GALLEYS

MODIFICATION No. : INSPECTION ATA SYSTEM : 25

REASON/DESCRIPTION/OPERATIONAL CONSEQUENCES

This Service Bulletin is issued to advise the operators of the issue of

the AVIO INTERIORS Service Bulletin 144/685-002 Rev. 01.

During preparation for flight, sparking and smoke was reported behind the
right hand control panel of the AFT galley. The circuit breakers for the
oven and the boilers were tripped and a reset was not possible. As a
safety measure the AFT galley feeder circuit breakers were pulled.

When the control panel was removed, the electrical connector and
receptacle were burnt and partially melted.

The electrical wiring connecting the control panel to the galley was
found to be too short. This made access to the electrical connector
difficult when removing/installing the control panel.

The AVIO INTERIORS Service Bulletin 144/685-002 Rev. 01 details the

inspection and, where necessary, repair of the galley wiring fitted to
A320 and A321 aircraft.

This Service Bulletin improves the installation of the electrical wiring

in the galleys.
