Concept Note
A program focused on data analytics for real-world applications typically covers topics such as:
1. Data collection and preprocessing: Techniques for collecting data from different sources, cleaning and
preparing data for analysis.
2. Statistical analysis: Descriptive and inferential statistical methods for analyzing data and making
predictions.
3. Machine learning algorithms: Supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms for classification,
regression, clustering, and anomaly detection.
4. Data visualization: Tools and techniques for visualizing data to communicate insights effectively.
5. Big data technologies: Introduction to tools and platforms for handling large volumes of data, such as
Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
6. Real-world case studies: Practical applications of data analytics in various domains, including
healthcare, finance, marketing, and social media.
By attending a faculty development program on data analytics for real-world applications, participants
can enhance their understanding of data analysis techniques, gain hands-on experience with relevant
tools and technologies, and explore ways to integrate data analytics into their teaching and research
activities.
