Rubrics Guideline for Final Year Project Evaluation

(With effect from 2023-24 academic session)

1. GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT COURSES AND THEIR EVALUATION

1. Projects will be done by students in groups which will be decided by the programme

coordinator and Head of the Department (HoD).

2. Each project group will have one departmental faculty mentor who will be supervising

the project work. However, depending on the nature of the project, HoD may depute

one more faculty member or may ask for the faculty from other departments to support

the expertise in the project.

3. The programme coordinator will maintain the records of the project titles and names of

the students who are assigned to work on different projects.

4. The synopsis/project proposal is to be submitted by the students to faculty mentors

within 15 days of the start of classes.

5. The faculty mentor will maintain all records of the projects and will do necessary follow-

ups for evaluation and assessments.

6. A project work will be reviewed and assessed three times in a semester for awarding

internal marks by the faculty mentor, followed by external evaluation as per Table 1.

7. The indicative rubrics for the evaluation of the project work are given in Table 2. HoD
and the programme coordinator can suitably develop the rubrics, if required, to meet
the course objectives. Accordingly, the course objectives must to be mentioned.
8. The weightage of marks in evaluation and rubrics of assessments must be
communicated to the students within one week of start of the semester.
