BELIZE: is a country on the north-eastern coast of Central America.

It is bordered by Mexico
to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the east, and Guatemala to the west and south. It also shares a
water boundary with Honduras to the southeast.

PRIME MINISTER: John Antonio Briceño (born 17 July 1960) is a Belizean politician
who is the fifth and current prime minister of Belize since 12 November 2020 and the leader of
the People's United Party (PUP) since 2016.

CULTURE: Most of the public holidays in Belize are traditional Commonwealth and
Christian holidays, although some are specific to Belizean culture such as Garifuna Settlement
Day and Heroes and Benefactors' Day, formerly Baron Bliss Day.

MUSIC: In recent years, Latin music, including reggaeton and banda, has experienced a surge
in popularity in Belize, alongside the traditional genres of punta and brukdown.

FOOD: Breakfast often consists of sides of bread, flour tortillas, or fry jacks that are often
homemade and eaten with various cheeses. All are often accompanied with refried beans,
cheeses, and various forms of eggs, etc. Inclusive is also cereal along with milk, coffee, or tea.

GASTRONOMIC: Belizean cuisine is an amalgamation of all ethnicities in the nation, and


their respectively wide variety of foods. It might best be described as both similar to
Mexican/Central American cuisine and Jamaican/Anglo-Caribbean cuisine but very different
from these areas as well, with Belizean touches and innovation which have been handed down by
generations.

POLITICS: Belize is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy. The structure of government is


based on the British parliamentary system, and the legal system is modelled on the common law
of England. The head of state is Charles III, who is the king of Belize. He lives in the United
Kingdom, and is represented in Belize by the governor-general. Executive authority is exercised
by the cabinet, which advises the governor-general and is led by the prime minister, who is head
of government. Cabinet ministers are members of the majority political party in parliament and
usually hold elected seats within it concurrent with their cabinet positions.
