2.5.3 Set Scan

Scan settings allows you set related parameters of vehicle bottom image, including image
quality, debug image, fix image, etc.
Table 2-4 Scan Settings
Parameters Description

JPEG Coding Quality The higher the value, the better the vehicle bottom image quality. It is
recommended to set the value between 40 and 60. Too higher value will
make the image too large to be transmitted and displayed.
Enable Debug Image The system will save debug images during algorithm processing if it is
enabled.

15
Under Vehicle Surveillance System Software• User Manual

Parameters Description

Enable Fix Image The system will save vehicle bottom images at certain length when it is
enabled, and the length can be set and adjusted in Fixed Image Length.
Frame Settings It sets the maximum number of frames that the system can capture. The
higher the value, the longer the vehicle that the system can be applicable.
Usually, 25 frames can be able to cover a 15-meter long vehicle.
However, the higher the value, the more resources the system will occupy.
Thus, it is recommended to set the value as 25.
Fix Image Length It sets the length of saved images when enabling Enable Fix Image.

Image Vehicle Direction It sets the direction of vehicle heading displayed in the main display area.

Mixture Delay It sets delay time of system fusing images captured by different cameras.

Figure 2-21 Scan Settings

2.5.6 Set Speed Detection

The speed detection module controls the start and end signals of the whole system, and
detects the vehicle speed to adjust the acquisition parameters of the line scan camera.
Currently, 2 versions of speed detection modules are available, including 1.0 version and 2.0
version.

Figure 2-27 Speed Detection Modules

Regarding 1.0 version, you can set serial port only. For 2.0 version, you can click open last
accessed device, and set following parameters according to actual demands.
Table 2-6 Speed Detection Settings
Parameters Description

Detection Direction It sets the UVSS working unidirectional or bidirectional.

Line Frequency Auto If you enable this function and the system line rate is controlled by
frequency wave generated from the speed module. If you disable
this function and the system line rate is controlled by the software
and the parameter can be set and adjusted in Line Frequency.
Line Frequency If you disable the Line Frequency Auto function, the system captures
the vehicle bottom image at certain line frequency set by this
parameter. Normally, the faster the vehicle speed, the higher this
number should be.
Protection Delay Time The unit is second and it adjusts by 0.1 second. After triggering is off,
the system keeps working for a certain time set by this parameter.
This is useful when the vehicle bottom height is too high or the
trigger is not stable. Generally, it is recommended to set this value at
1 or 2 seconds.
Alarm Delay Time The unit is second and it adjusts by 0.1 second. The system counts
the time from trigger on to trigger off. If the time is longer than the
Alarm Delay Time, the speed module will send an alarm signal to the
software and turn off the system enforced.
Event The speed module will detect events of the vehicle and send the
IN/OUT/PAUSE/CONTINUE detailed events to the software. However, it is recommended not to
modify the parameters in this section and keep them by default.
