Company provides hosted, end-to-end, solutions for government electronic benefits transfer and electronic payment card processing for 40 states and Federal government benefit programs. Implemented complete DR infrastructure, servers, SAN storage, and telecommunications, to replace the primary data center, in the event of a disaster, using VMWare and virtualization, among other technologies. Also planned and rd executed the migration of 150 remote sites and 3 party processors for automated network failover. Implemented CMDB (Configuration Management Data Base) based on ITIL principles using Oracle Grid Control as the primary tool to manage infrastructure and applications in two large data centers involving 275 servers plus associated SAN and Telecomm infrastructure. Planned and managed Trip Wire implementation (Intrusion Detection Security Software) in compliance with PCI (Payment Card Industry) requirements in very tight schedule. Also, Program Manager overseeing multiple security projects and initiatives.

Managed a complete infrastructure refresh for Avery's Rochester NY Data Center. Data Center hosts Oracle Database / ERP / Financials applications. We are replacing with all new infrastructure (AIX P-Series Servers, SAN storage and switches, Tape Library, TSM, Network switches, etc.) and migrating from IBM DS 4800 to Net App (IBM N-Series) filers in the process. Led this project throughout complete life cycle: from RFP, through Business Case / AFE, through contracting, planning and implementation. This data center and its applications are global in scope and supports approximately 66 Avery manufacturing sites worldwide. This is one of Avery's top 20 most critical projects. Project involves multiple vendors and vendor management. Also managed a second project to plan and implement a comprehensive Disaster Recovery (DR) solution for the above data center and applications. Under my leadership, this solution has been planned, designed and budget estimated. It is awaiting completion of the above technology refresh before implementation. Recommended by senior management for a senior level project management role in another upcoming project to consolidate several data centers and migrate all of Avery's data centers to a new hosting vendor at new hosting sites.

Managed the implementation of: IT hardware and software infrastructure enhancements, utilizing Computer Associates (CA) MICS, Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), and EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure in compliance with EPMM methodology. Major projects include: MICS Platform Re-Engineering and Data Warehousing - Re-architecting and updating MICS, a mainframe capacity planning / performance tuning tool from Computer Associates. Project also included designing and implementing several data warehouses for specialized purposes such as billing and charge-backs. TSM for London Data Center - Implemented Tivoli Storage Manager (software and hardware infrastructure) in Wachovia's London Data Center. This is a system for managing and performing daily tape and SAN backups for all the application servers in the London Data Center. Led cross-functional teams in migrating three distinct, incompatible batch schedulers into Tivoli from a multi-tiered Unix, Windows, and Mainframe network. Enhanced application functionality to provide for step-level dependency, and performed manual coding to accommodate different time zones. Project Prioritization System - Developed a project management prioritization system, requiring specific criteria in order to calculate a project ranking between 0 and 1,000, with that number serving as a strong guideline for the panel prioritizing projects across the enterprise. ITIL Strategy Development - Developed the strategy for ITIL Service Management implementation to establish a series of guidelines and best practices for effective IT department operation. Integrally contributed to the planning team, which decided to bring in a consultant, conduct an initial assessment, and recommend a proposal.
