ICT CURRICULUM
2023-24

FOR FOUNDATIONAL, PREPARATORY

AND MIDDLE STAGES
ICT CURRICULUM OF RAJASTHAN
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT 2023-24

Introduction:
In light of the 2020 National Education Policy (NEP) in India, the
integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into
the curriculum has assumed a pivotal role. The NEP recognizes that ICT
is no longer an optional addition but a vital component of modern
education. In today's fast-paced world, ICT in education is essential for
empowering students, promoting inclusivity, and equipping them with
the skills needed for success in the 21st century. This curriculum
overhaul is about preparing students to thrive in a digital,
interconnected world, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future's
challenges and opportunities, bridging the existing digital divide.

The integration of ICT into education extends beyond the classroom, as

students' innate curiosity drives their participation in digital activities.
While social networks and blogging become inevitable, it is crucial to
raise awareness about cyberbullying and privacy issues. ICT
significantly impacts personality development, particularly by
enhancing communication skills, breaking language barriers, and
ensuring accessibility for students with physical challenges. The
commencement of the ICT program may vary but should ensure that
every student completes the advanced stages outlined in the National
Policy on ICT in School Education before finishing their schooling,
fostering well-rounded digitally skilled young citizens prepared to be
sent out in society.

Objectives:
1.Connecting with the World: Foster digital literacy and global
connectivity.
2.Connecting with Each Other: Enhance communication skills and
promote responsible digital interaction.
3.Creating with ICT: Develop technical proficiency and encourage
creative use of digital tools.
4.Interacting with ICT: Ensure progressive ICT education, educate on
cyber safety and enable access to digital resources.
