Scheme: Support to farmers for Broiler Farming (500 Bird Capacity) under Deep Litter System in
Individual Mode during the year 2024-25

AIM:
The aim of the scheme is to support 6875 farmers for setting up of Broiler farms with a
capacity of 500 birds per unit during the year 2024-25.
SCHEME OBJECTIVE:

 To enhance the poultry meat production in the state.


 Enhance livelihoods and incomes among farmers through broiler meat production.
 To support the nutritional requirement of the people through consumption of animal protein.
 To build the capacity of the farmers for undertaking broiler farming in deep litter system as a
profitable mini-enterprise.

SCHEME OUTLAY & SUBSIDY:

 Unit cost of 500 birds under Broiler Scheme is Rs.1,80,000 /-

ELIGIBILITY:

 The willing farmers/ entrepreneurs will be eligible to avail support under the scheme.
 Priority will be given to SC, ST, Women, Transgender &differently able (Min.40%
disability) category.
 While availing subsidy the beneficiary family will be considered instead of individual
members of the family. A family will not be eligible for subsidy under the same
scheme if any if its member has got subsidy during last three years.

SUPPORT FROM THE DEPARTMENT:
1. Training of farmers will be organized at Regional/District/ Block level or any other convenient
place after selection of beneficiaries.
2. Each farmer will be trained on construction of poultry houses, recommended management
practices on feeding & watering, brooding and rearing young chicks, record keeping, etc.
3. The concerned Livestock Inspectors, Gomitras and Prani Mitras will guide the farmers in field
for managing the Broiler units.
4. The beneficiary shall directly procure quality chicks which will be properly monitored by the
respective BVOs.
5. Delivery of veterinary health care services by field functionaries through ongoing health care
schemes.
6. Routine vaccination of birds on priority basis.
Procurement of chicks:
1. Day old broiler chicks will be procured by the farmers from any reputed source.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
1. Identification proof (Aadhaar card)
2. Land document/lease deed (Photocopy)
3. 60% of project cost to be – Self financed / Bank loan
4. If bank loan consent letter from bank
5. Bank A/C no. with IFSC code for DBT (Photocopy)
6. The certificate of identity as transgender persons issued by District Magistrate as per ‘The
Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019”
7. For differently able persons the certificate of disability issued by certifying authority /
competent authority indicating 40% or more disability as per “The Rights of Persons with
Disability Acts, 2016”.

PROCESS FOR PROVIDING SUBSIDY:


1. Online application in the GO Sugam Portal (https://sugam.odisha.gov.in )
2. As per recommendation of the Block level Inspection team(BLIT), BVO checks documents,
upload photo and submit verification report to the CDVO
3. Approval of the applications through DLC and issue of Go-ahead letter to the beneficiary
by the CDVO
4. Physical verification of the completion of broiler shed by BLIT and submission of
verification report to the BVO
5. Submission of verification report by BVO to CDVO for release of subsidy
6. Release of first installment through DBT by CDVO
7. Physical verification of completed project after establishment of unit/ induction of birds by
BLIT and submission of verification report to the BVO
8. Submission of verification report by BVO to CDVO for release of subsidy
9. Release of second/final installment through DBT

1. Status can be tracked online in the Go Sugam Portal
2. SMS alerts are provided to the beneficiaries and concerned stakeholders
