Regional Workshops!
Regional Workshop in Greece for 20 Artists - Creative Writing Our first regional workshop in
Greece was a remarkable success, bringing together 20 talented artists for an intensive creative
writing session. Held in the picturesque city of Larissa, this workshop provided a collaborative space
where artists could explore themes of climate change and environmental sustainability. Participants
engaged in a series of exercises designed to inspire and challenge them, from brainstorming
sessions and group discussions to solo writing periods. The result was a collection of compelling
narratives that will form the foundation of our project’s performances. These stories, rich with diverse
perspectives and innovative ideas, highlight the power of creative writing to communicate complex
environmental issues effectively.

Collaborative Script Writing in Italian Workshop in Pisa

The collaborative script-writing workshop in Pisa, Italy, was a vibrant and productive gathering. Hosted
in a historic and culturally rich environment, artists and writers from various disciplines came together
to develop the scripts for our upcoming holographic performances. Over several days, participants
engaged in a dynamic exchange of ideas, merging classical literature with contemporary
environmental themes. Through guided sessions and collaborative brainstorming, the workshop
produced several scripts that blend traditional storytelling with modern concerns, creating powerful
narratives that resonate with today’s audiences. This workshop not only advanced our project but also
fostered a spirit of camaraderie and shared purpose among the participants.

Creative Writing Workshop in Budapest for Local Artists

Budapest served as the venue for another successful creative writing workshop, focusing on
generating new ideas and stories that reflect the environmental challenges we face. Local artists
gathered to participate in this engaging workshop, which provided a platform for them to express their
unique perspectives and creativity. The sessions included discussions on the impact of climate
change on local and global scales, followed by writing exercises that encouraged participants to
create narratives highlighting these issues. The workshop culminated in a showcase where
participants presented their works, demonstrating the powerful role of creative writing in raising
awareness and fostering dialogue about climate change.

The Bus Concept

One of the most innovative aspects of the eARTh project is
the "Bus Concept"
One of the most innovative aspects of the eARTh project is the "Bus Concept" – a mobile workshop
and performance space designed to travel to different regions, bringing our project directly to
communities. This concept transforms a bus into a fully equipped creative space, allowing us to
conduct workshops and performances on the move. By taking our project on the road, we can reach a
broader audience, engage with diverse communities, and provide an immersive experience that
transcends traditional venue limitations. The Bus Concept exemplifies our commitment to accessibility
and community engagement, ensuring that the eARTh project has a wide-reaching impact.

Regional Workshops Guide: Cultivating
Creativity in Climate Change
Education
Creative Writing in Climate Education Creative writing is a powerful tool that allows individuals to
express their thoughts, experiences, and emotions with the creativity of the mind. It encompasses
various forms such as fiction writing and scriptwriting, and serves not only as a means of artistic
expression but also as a valuable learning tool. By engaging in creative writing, participants can
explore the world around them, challenge assumptions, and develop original ideas and solutions to
the challenges we face, particularly those related to climate change.

Our regional workshops guide is designed to harness the creativity and collaborative spirit of
participants, enabling them to produce powerful and engaging stories that highlight the urgency of
climate change. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical exercises and fostering a
supportive collaborative environment, we aim to create a body of work that inspires and educates
audiences across Europe.

Three Core Principles

Our regional workshops guide focuses on three fundamental principles designed to enhance the
creative process and foster a deeper understanding of climate change:

1. Understanding the Concept of Story Development and Climate Change: Participants will
delve into the mechanics of story development, learning how to craft compelling narratives that
integrate themes of climate change. By understanding how to weave environmental issues into
their stories, writers can create impactful and thought-provoking content that resonates with
audiences.
2. Working in Groups, Like a Production’s Writers’ Room: Much like a professional writers' room
for a television series, our workshops emphasize collaborative storytelling. Participants will work
together in groups, sharing ideas and building upon each other’s contributions. This collaborative
environment mirrors the dynamics of a writers’ room, fostering teamwork and enhancing the
creative process.
3. Producing Original Scripts: The ultimate goal of the workshops is to produce original scripts
that can be used in our holographic performances. By the end of the workshop, participants will
have developed scripts that are ready for production, contributing to the overall narrative of the
eARTh project.

The Writers’ Room

A writers' room is a collaborative workspace where writers brainstorm and develop stories together.
This environment is highly collaborative, involving showrunners, producers, and writers working
together to create cohesive and compelling narratives. Each member brings their unique strengths to
the table, enhancing the overall quality of the work.

Showrunner: Often the series creator, the showrunner oversees the narrative direction and
determines the viability of ideas.
Story Editor: Seasoned writers who guide the writing process and take on leadership roles in
the absence of producers.
Staff Writer: Entry-level writers who develop story ideas and contribute to the overall narrative
