Performance art
Performance art - an art form that combines visual art with
dramatic performance.
Marina Abramovic and Ulay
 is a famous partners in love and performance art. The art
they made together was passionate, pioneering and
powerful; their extraordinary relationship lives on in
indelible images, such as the pair holding a bow and arrow
in tension, the arrow’s tip pointed at Abramović’s heart.
 The creativity in their art is the expression of their strong
emotion in their performance, some may find it uncanny
in their performance but that’s what make it called art.
This couple isn’t afraid to convey their emotions and they
take risk in every act they perform.
Visual art
 The visual arts are art forms such as painting, drawing,
printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video,
filmmaking, design, crafts, and architecture. Many
artistic disciplines such as performing arts, conceptual
art, textile arts also involve aspects of visual arts as well
as arts of other types.
 Jackson Pollock is a famous Abstract expressionist
painter, his art form is expressed through the works of
his painting, his painting may not be visually pleasing to
some. But behind it is the emotions he put while making
it. He is known for the drip technique he used in his
painting, and the “action painting” which he uses his
whole body to paint, often in a frenetic dancing style.
 This extreme form of abstraction divided the audience
some praised the immediacy and fluency of the
creation, while others derided the random effects.
Dance
Dance, the movement of the body in a rhythmic
way, usually to music and within a given space.
In dance, our purpose is to express emotions,
communicating physically, allowing those
feelings to move through the body, out of the
body, and in doing so, to move others.
It is about expressing the deep, guttural
emotionality that gets right to the very core of
us. That’s what makes our movements moving.
Through dance, our body expresses how free we
actually are, while also highlighting the
restrictions our minds impose on it. Dance is the
art form in which human movement becomes
the medium for sensing, understanding, and
communicating ideas, feelings, and exper
Architecture

Architecture : An art or practice of designing and


constructing buildings
how is this expressed?
 emerged in the 18th century as a reaction against
grandeur and symmetry
 more fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising
ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades
 often depict themes of love, classical myths, youth,
and playfulness
how does this unmask the artist’s creativity?
 It unmasks the artists creativity through the presence
of vivid colors that will highlight and heighten sensual
delight to pastel shades of color and from violent
surface relief to smooth and graceful
Literary Art
Literary Art: Is an integrative discipline of
ideation, it explores on the six writing forms,
namely Non-Fiction, short fiction, novel, graphic
novel, and scriptwriting
How is it expressed?
 Literary art focuses on writing using a unique
style, not following a specific format or norm,
it is expressed by writing novels, manuscripts,
and a lot more ideas from the author. It may
include both fiction and non-fiction such as
novels, biographies, and poems.
How does this unmask the artist’s creativity?
 it unmasks the artist’s creativity by letting the
artist’s feelings, emotions, ideas, ambitions,
aspirations and plans come to a work such as
fictions and non-fictions literary works
Film

Film: Is typically a serious, independent film, aimed at a


niche market rather than a mass market audience
How is it expressed?
 This is expressed through a gesture, an emotion, a
location will resonate more with the audience than a
lecture conveyed though dialogue.
How does it unmask the artist’s creativity?
 This art form unmasks the artist creativity when there is
an interaction with audience, if all the elements are
clearly shown and if it affects the audience mood and
feelings.
Theatre
Theatre or theater is a collaborative
form of performing art that uses live
performers, typically actors or
actresses, to present the experience
of a real or imagined event before a
live audience in a specific place,
often a stage.
Theatre work provides a vehicle for
students to reflect on important
aspects of life, in the process
developing their sensitivity to and
deepening their understandings of
others' points of view.
The creativity is expressed through
their voice, acting, gestures,
musicality, and props.
Poetry Performance
 Poetry writing allows one to express themselves
through the written word. This is a great way to
release pent up emotion, exercise creativity,
and share thoughts and ideas with other people.
Even if you've never written creatively before,
you can enjoy the feeling of writing about your
life.
 Poetry performance transforms writings into a
theatrical performance like dramatic reading or
spoken poetry. With the use of the voice and
gestures  It is an oral art that focuses on the
aesthetics of word play such as intonation and
voice inflection.
Applied Art  Applied art : The term "applied art" refers to
the application (and resulting product) of
artistic design to utilitarian objects in everyday
use. Whereas works of fine art have no function
other than providing aesthetic or intellectual
stimulation to the viewer, works of applied art
are usually functional objects which have been
"prettified" or creatively designed with both
aesthetics and function in mind. Applied art
embraces a huge range of products and items,
from a teapot or chair, to the walls and roof of
a railway station or concert hall, a fountain pen
or computer mouse.
HOW DOES APPLIED ART EXPRESS
 Applied art is something that stimulates an
individuals emotions, beliefs or ideas through
the senses. It is also an expression of an idea
and it can take many different forms and serve
many different purposes.
