2. Problem Definition:
(1) Address the problem and motivation –
In the social areas if waste is not separated properly, it gets mixed up in landfills.
Waste segregation means keeping wet and dry wastes separately so that dry can be
recycled and wet waste can be composted. When mixed dry and wet waste breaks
down in landfills, it creates nasty greenhouse gases which is not good for the
environment
(2) Summarize the domain-
• Smart Garbage segregation and monitoring system is an autonomous system. The
user can place waste over the segregator table the sensors over the table identifies
it and categories waste into dry and wet and the waste is pushed into respective
bins.
• The process continues until the garbage in ins reach its full capacity when bin is
full an alarm rings and an SMS alert is sent to user notifying the dustbin is full.
3. Objectives:
• To reduce human efforts of manual segregation
• Alert user on time to avoid overflowing of bins and littering premises
• Timely disposal of the garbage
• Use of technology for the segregation increasing software skills
