There is an old saying that applies to the study of mathematics: You do not learn from readingyou learn by doing. Much the same thing may be said about the study of managerial economics. This study guide is designed to enhance the students understanding of the material presented in the text. Each chapter in this study guide is divided into four sections: Overview, multiple choice questions, shorter problems and longer problems. The overview section is a synopsis of the main topics covered in each chapter of the text. This section is followed by examination-type multiple-choice questions, shorter problems, and longer problems. The student should carefully read the relevant text chapter before moving onto the multiple choice questions and problems. The student is encouraged to attempt to answer each of the multiple choice questions before referring to the answers that are provided at the end of each chapter. By proceeding in this manner, the student will better be able to identify any deciencies in comprehension of the basic concepts covered in the text. The multiple choice questions are followed by a series of shorter and longer problems that are designed to assist the student in developing problem solving skills. As in the case of the multiple choice questions, the student is urged to attempt to solve the problems before referring to the solutions. An important by-product of using this study guide is that many of the same types of multiple choice questions and problems presented in this study guide will also be encountered in course examinations and homework assignments.
