Materials list
Yarn:
- Scheepjes Catona - Fiber Content: 100% mercerized cotton. Yarn weight: Fingering (50gr/125m).
Colors: white (Bridal White - 105), red (Hot Red - 115), light brown (Moon Rock - 254), lime
(Lime - 512).
Others:
1.75mm hook (or the size you prefer), fiberfill, tapestry needle, scissors, pins and stitch markers.
Note: The base, the stem and the gill are the same for both mushrooms. The caps and details are what make
the difference between them.

Each mushroom measures about 4,5cm (1.77″)


Abbreviations
BLO = back loop only
Ch = chain / chs = chains
dec = decrease / decs = decreases
ink = increase / incs = increases
Sc = single crochet
st = stitch / sts = stitches

Base
Round With lime color (512).
1 6sc in a magic ring = 6 sts
3 6 inks = 12 sts
3 (1sc, ink) 6 times = 18 sts
4 BLO - (2sc, inc) 6 times = 24 sts. Mark the last loop of round 3.
5 (1sc, ch1) 23 times, 1sc = 47 sts.
Cut the yarn and finish with invisible join. Weave in the remaining yarn
tail.
Stem and gill
Round With white (105) insert the hook in the visible loop of the last st of round 3 (previously marked
loop).
1-2 sc each st around (2 rounds) = 18 sts. Don't cut the yarn.
Tip: To make the mushroom more structured, reinforce the base with a felt sticker, some cardboard or
plastic cut to size or any other flat material you think is suitable.

3 2sc, dec, (4sc, dec) 2 times, 2sc = 15 sts


4 sc each st around = 15 sts
5 (3sc, dec) 3 times = 12 sts
6 sc each st around = 12 sts
7 1sc, dec, (2sc, dec) 2 times, 1sc = 9 sts
8 sc each st around = 9 sts
9 (1sc, dec) 3 times = 6 sts
10 sc each st around = 6 sts
11 6 incs = 12 sts
12 (1sc, inc) 6 times = 18 sts
13 1sc, inc, (2sc, inc) 5 times, 1sc = 24 sts
14 (3sc, inc) 6 times = 30 sts
15 2sc, inc, (4sc, inc) 5 times, 2sc = 36 sts
16 sc each st around = 36 sts.
Cut the yarn and finish with invisible join. Weave in the remaining yarn tail.
Brown mushroom
Before starting the cap, embroider the gill. With white and a
tapestry needle, make 36 vertical lines from round 11 to round 16.
The red color in the photo is only for easier viewing.

Round Cap: With light brown (254).


1 8sc in a magic ring = 8 sts
2 (3sc, inc) 2 times = 10 sts
3 (4sc, inc) 2 times = 12 sts
4 (1sc, inc) 6 times = 18 sts
5 1sc, inc, (2sc, inc) 5 times, 1sc = 24 sts
6 (3sc, inc) 6 times = 30 sts
7 2sc, inc, (4sc, inc) 5 times, 2sc = 36 sts
8 sc each st around = 36 sts. Don't cut the yarn.
Join the gill with the cap as follows: With wrong side facing wrong side, insert the hook in a st of the cap and
in the front loop of the gill and make 1sc. Repeat all the way around, completing 36sc.
Cut the yarn and finish with invisible join. Weave in the remaining yarn tail.

With light brown, embroider small lines at the base of the stem.
Tip: For a more delicate effect, divide the Catona yarn strands and use only half.

Red mushroom
Round Repeat the instructions for the base, the stem and the gill. Don't
embroider the gill lines.
With red yarn (115) make the cap.
1 6sc in a magic ring = 6 sts
2 6 incs = 12 sts
3 (1sc, inc) 6 times = 18 sts
4 1sc, inc, (2sc, inc) 5 times, 1sc = 24 sts
5 (3sc, inc) 6 times = 30 sts
6 2sc, inc, (4sc, inc) 5 times, 2sc = 36 sts
7 sc each st around = 36 sts. Don't cut the yarn. Put the work on hold.
With white, randomly embroider French Knots around the cap.
Tip: For a more delicate effect, use a thinner white yarn or divide the strands that make up the Catona yarn
and use only half.
Join the cap and the gill as you did for the brown mushroom.

Your mushrooms are done! Congratulations!
