Job Description

Title: Place Shaping Officer


Hours of work: 37 hours/week
Salary Range: SCP pt 19 £29,777
Pension: 17% of annual salary to Medrwn Môn’s approved pension scheme
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus 4 additional
days
Place of Work: Office based, Medrwn Môn, Town Hall, Bulkeley Square, Llangefni,
LL77 7LR
Responsible to: Chief Officer

Overarching Responsibility
 To co-ordinate and manage the delivery of the Place Shaping Programme
across Anglesey
 To act as a point of liaison with the Public Map Platform project, helping PMP
to develop funding opportunities with the Community Alliances.
 To raise awareness of the Place Shaping Programme and Community
Alliances with all partners
 To ensure that Alliances become a recognised structure for engaging
communities in the design and development of County Council (and other
statutory) services
 To be the main point of contact for enquiries about Place Shaping within
Medrwn Môn

Main Responsibilities
 To provide support for existing Alliances and to co-ordinate and support the
development of Alliance structures in the remaining areas of the Island (one
in each electoral ward)
 Support Alliances to utilise the asset mapping evidence to identify projects to
work on in line with chosen priorities
 Support Alliances to consider the different solutions available to them by
utilising the assets they. Develop the skill and capacity of Alliances to identify
and apply for funding where needed
 Work with Alliances to promote resilient and responsible communities who
are able to find solutions for local issues at a community level or work in
partnership with statutory services when needed
 Provide information (e-briefings, website information, newsletter articles,
briefing papers) about the opportunities for communities to engage
 Work with Alliances to engage with public consultations, their Town &
Community Councils, statutory services and their wider communities
 Develop strong relationships with team members within Medrwn Môn,
statutory partners, Community Alliances and wider third sector
 Present findings and progress against targets to local, regional and national
partners when required
 To work with the Funding and Information officer to support community
groups to identify potential funding for projects

The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the
nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.

Person Specification

A well-organised individual who will take responsibility for key parts of the
organisation’s internal administrative procedures. The postholder should have
demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment, excellent attention
to detail and experience of managing a demanding workload with competing
deadlines.

An effective communicator who can make decisions and recommendations regarding


the administrative functions of Medrwn Môn. An excellent standard of written and
verbal communication is essential alongside the ability to maintain an enthusiastic,
‘can-do’ attitude. Essential and desirable skills, abilities, experience, knowledge and
special requirements for the post of Senior Administrator
