second derivatives. Prove the identities

(a) ∇ · (φ A) = ∇φ · A + φ (∇ · A). (d) ∇ · (∇ × A) = 0 (scalar).


(b) ∇ × (φ A) = ∇φ × A + φ (∇ × A). (e) ∇ × (∇φ) = 0 (vector).

Evaluate the line integral of F along the segment of the straight line between the points M =
(0, 0, 0) and N = (3, 2, 1).

3. Compute the area of the astroid defined by the parametric equations

x = a cos3 (t), and y = a sin3 (t), with t ∈ [0, 2π].
