Single Story Three-Dimensional Frame, Dynamic


Response Spectrum Analysis

 Open the ETABS Program

1) Click the File menu > New model command

2) The next form of Building Plan Grid System and Story Data Definition will be displayed after
you select the NO button.

3) TO show the story properties Edit>Edit stories and Grid System> modify/Show story data

4)To change the units, On bottom right corner you see the units.

5)Define the design code using the Design > Concrete Frame Design command>View/review

6) This will display the Concrete Frame Design Preference form as shown in the figure.

7) Click the Define menu > Material Properties

 Add New Material or Modify/Show Material used to define material properties

8) Define section columns and beams using Define >Section properties > Frame section>Add
new material properties

a)Create a Beam:

9) Generate the model

 Draw beam using Create Line Command and draw column using Create Column command

12) Assign support condition Drop-down box in the lower right-hand corner of the ETABS window,
Select only bottom single storey level to assign fixed support using Assign > Joint/Point>Restrain
