    Product launch: HMA-02

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Your requests for high-pressure fixed displacement motors with larger nominal sizes
    prompted us to carry out a market analysis. The results showed that availability varies
    greatly depending on the nominal size.

    Many of our competitors offer fixed displacement motors between 65 and 135 ccm. This
    means that the intervals between the available sizes are very small. When it comes to
    nominal sizes greater than 135 ccm, however, the choice is much more limited. Moreover,
    the intervals between the available sizes increase. We would like to take advantage of this
    market potential for fixed displacement motors with nominal sizes of 135–250 ccm.

    We are therefore pleased to present to you the HMA-02, which is an adjustable axial piston
    motor for fixed displacement motor operation. The HMA-02 is already available in the
    nominal sizes 165 and 210, and nominal size 280 is in the process of being developed. The
    HMA-02 is based on the proven design of the variable motor HMV-02. This gives it a
    considerable advantage over conventional high-pressure fixed displacement motors: the
    displacement can be set individually by means of an adjusting screw on the port plate
    housing. This means that the available sizes cover all displacements 135–210 ccm, giving
    you greater flexibility in terms of the design for new projects as well as when replacing field
    units.

    A further benefit and major selling point is the fact that the displacement can be adapted to
    different torque requirements. For example, when using a rock drill, the torque can be
    adjusted for the different layers of rock to ensure optimum performance. Furthermore, the
    OEM can cover several of the motor sizes currently used with just one nominal size. This will
    result in a considerable reduction in the number of versions and parts for different models of
    machine.

    Typical fields in which the HMA-02 is ideal for use include the oil and mining industries with
    drilling technology and winch drives. Steering gears and fan drives have also already been
    designed using the HMA-02.
