    Pupil to Sans Failldor of Kramlor, Cain excelled in the teachings of magic
    and soon became full of himself. Leaving his mentor Cain left for the
    adventuring life. Then one day in a village he attended the temple
    service of Lisaila after the service one of the priests who recognized
    Cain as a youthful magic user came and spoke to Cain, telling him of
    unimagiable powers that are destined to be his throught the service of
    Lisaila he agreed and was given an ancient tome detailing the shadowmages
    of old through some minor tutalage, as much as a mage can get from
    a priest in the ways of magic, and some divine intervention Cain took
    up the dark craft and pledged his allegiance to the goddess Lisalia.
