Functional Test Procedure For UPS Unit
Measured Expected
Item Notes:
Value Value
Visual Inspection:
1. Ensure all connections (input/output
power, batteries) are securely and correctly
connected.
2. Check for any visible damage or loose
components.
3. Verify that the UPS is in a well-ventilated
area and that cooling fans are operational.
Input Power Test:
1. Connect the UPS to a 230 V stable power
source.
2. Verify that the UPS recognizes the input
power and switches to normal (online)
mode.
3. Use a multimeter to measure the input 200 –
voltage, ensuring it falls within the 240 V
specified range.
Output Power Test:
1. Connect the load equipment to the UPS
output.
2. Verify that the UPS switches to battery
mode when the input power is
disconnected.
3. Measure the output voltage using a 200 –
multimeter, ensuring it remains within the 240 V
specified range.
Battery Test:
1. Disconnect the input power to simulate a
power outage.
2. Monitor the UPS to ensure it switches to
battery power smoothly.
3. Verify the runtime of the UPS by checking 30
how long it can sustain the load on battery minutes
power.
4. Reconnect the input power to recharge the
batteries.
Overload Test:
1. Gradually increase the load on the UPS to
its maximum capacity.
2. Verify that the UPS can handle the load 200 –
without shutting down or causing any 240V
damage.
Fault Condition Test:
Simulate a fault condition, such as a short Shut
circuit or input power spike, and ensure the down
UPS responds appropriately (e.g., alarms, shut
down if necessary).
Alarm Test:
Verify that audible and visual alarms are
triggered appropriately during various test
scenarios.
Q.
If UPS are included in the scope of work for this project, please include a functional test of UPS
units in the check sheet.
R.
A functional test of UPS has been provided in the check sheet.
Q.
Include in the check sheet test of the main EXIT door function during fire alarm scenario, i.e. all
EXIT doors equipped with access control should be opened during fire or emergency scenario.
R.
All exit doors have been designed to open from the inside without the need for keys. Which are
equipped with a mechanical panic bar to facilitate swift and effortless egress during emergency
situations. This panic bar mechanism ensures that occupants can quickly exit the premises
without any hindrance, and it aligns with the safety standards and regulations governing
emergency egress.
