project. It encompasses the overarching plan or strategy that guides the researcher in
collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in a structured and objective manner. Creswell
(2014) states that study methodology outlines the procedures, techniques, tools, and
theoretical frameworks that are employed to address research questions or hypotheses and
achieve the research objectives. It ensures that the research is conducted in a rigorous,
reliable, and valid manner, thereby enhancing the credibility and quality of the findings. To
support the above assertions Mooney (2013) states that study methodology is a crucial aspect
of research as it determines the overall success and impact of a study. It helps researchers to
maintain consistency, transparency, and accountability in their research endeavors. Here the
researcher also selects a sample. A study sample refers to a subset of a population that is
selected for research purposes in order to generalize results to the larger population
(Creswell, 2014).
