 Categorywise Supply of Tyres to Various Segments

NOTES:

1. Total Production less (a) Exports, (b) Supplies to Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM’s) and (c) Government, has been
taken as supply to replacement market (including STU’s). This would, of course, include inventories with factories and dealers.
Hence it is not sale to Replacement Market at any particular time. However, when a period of, say, 6 months is taken, then the
cumulative figures would approximate as sales to replacement market. To assess the correct position of sales to replacement
market at any time, it is necessary to have an idea of whether inventory levels have gone up or down compared to an estimated
normal inventory level of 30 days (for truck/bus tyres) and approx. 25 days (for other categories of tyres).

2. Supplies to OEM’s are based on the actual vehicle production. Supplies to Government are estimated. Reference categorywise
Supply to various segments. OE supplies have been worked out on the basis of total vehicle production. Hence it includes
supply by Tyre Companies which are NOT members of ATMA.

3. For the number of tyres supplied per vehicle for arriving at the OE off-take, per vehicle OE fitment of tyres has been taken as
follows:-

About ATMA
Headquartered in New Delhi (India), Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA) is amongst the most active and
well known national industry bodies in the country. Being a representative body of ten large tyre companies in India
accounting for over 90% of tyre production, ATMA has been accorded status as the true voice of the Indian tyre industry.
ATMA works towards promoting and safeguarding the interests of the tyre industry in India primarily by acting as conduit
between the Government and the industry. The Association strives to be an active participant in policy making process and
holds frequent meetings with the Government departments to discuss the challenges being faced by the industry in the ever-
changing economic environment.
The Association acts as the industry’s interface with the media, opinion leaders, NGOs and other Industry associations
around the world so as to present the perspective of Indian tyre industry on different issues.
