Sustainable
Development
Goal 1 VANSH XI - A

The primary Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is to end

poverty worldwide in all of its manifestations. This objective
emphasizes the dedication to tackling the intricacies of poverty,
acknowledging that it goes beyond a lack of cash. It includes
more general aspects such as not having access to social
opportunities, clean water, healthcare, or education. The
objective highlights a comprehensive strategy for uplifting
people and communities, taking into account the links between
many elements that contribute to poverty. Strategies for
sustainable development, inclusive policies, and focused
interventions are needed to accomplish
his aim. Governments,
non-governmental
organizations, and local
communities are essential
to the implementation of
programs that address
the underlying causes of
poverty as well as short-term
financial challenges. The first SDG aims to build a world that
values social fairness and collaboration. where every person has
the opportunity to live a dignified life, free from the burdens of
extreme poverty. 20
Sustainable
Development Goal 2

Zero Hunger is the second Sustainable Development Goal

(SDG), which aims to eradicate hunger, provide food security,
enhance nutrition, and advance sustainable agriculture. Since
proper nourishment is a basic human right, this aim recognizes
the serious problem of worldwide food insecurity. It asks for
resilient food systems, sustainable farming methods, and fair
resource allocation to guarantee that everyone has access to
enough food that is safe and nourishing. The SDG recognizes
that hunger is a result of interrelated problems like poverty,
inequality, and climate change. To achieve Zero Hunger,
policies that prioritize food availability for vulnerable
populations, investment in rural development, adoption of
agricultural technology, and international collaboration are all
necessary. To establish a world free from hunger, the second
SDG targets both short-term alleviation and long-term
sustainable solutions. where no one goes to bed hungry,
fostering a more resilient and equitable global food system.

UTKARSH XI - A 21
SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT GOAL 3
The third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is all about good
health and well-being, to ensure that everyone, regardless of age,
has a healthy life and is promoted. This all-encompassing objective
includes several goals, such as lowering the death rates of mothers
and children, treating and preventing infectious illnesses, and
guaranteeing that everyone has access to basic medical care. It
tackles the necessity of strong health personnel and infrastructure
while highlighting the significance of mental health. In addition to
being a fundamental right, the SDGs acknowledge that health is
also a critical component of sustainable development. Strengthening
health systems, expanding access to necessary medications and
immunizations, and advancing health education are all necessary to
achieve this aim. The third SDG aims to establish a society where
everyone has access to preventative care by tackling the
socioeconomic determinants of health and giving them priority. can
lead a healthy and fulfilling life, contributing to broader societal
well-being.

PREM XI - B 22
SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT
GOAL 4

Quality education is the fourth Sustainable Development Goal

(SDG), which aims to guarantee inclusive and equitable
education for everyone while encouraging opportunities for
lifelong learning. This objective is to provide everyone,
irrespective of gender, race, or socioeconomic status, with high-
quality basic and secondary education. It highlights how
important it is to improve basic abilities like reading, maths,
and writing while creating a welcoming learning atmosphere. In
addition, the SDG supports higher education and the growth of
technical and vocational education. Through focusing on these
educational facets, the objective seeks to promote social
inclusion, empower people, and support sustainable
development. Governments, educators, communities, and foreign
partners must work together to remove obstacles and establish
a world where education is both a fundamental right and a
catalyst for social change in order to achieve quality education.

BHANU XI - B 23
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
GOAL 5:
Gender equality is the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG),
which aims to provide equal opportunity and representation while
putting an end to violence and discrimination based on gender. This
objective acknowledges the significance of empowering women and
girls in all spheres of life, such as work, education, and decision-
making. It aims to end damaging customs like female genital
mutilation and child marriage while advancing equitable access to
resources and services. It takes inclusive policies, a willingness to
question social conventions, and encouragement of women in
leadership positions to achieve gender equality. The concept that
gender equality is both a fundamental human right and a
requirement for an equitable and sustainable society is emphasized
by this SDG. The objective is to overcome systematic gender
imbalances and imagine a future in which every person, regardless
of gender, has the freedom to pursue their aspirations and
contribute to the betterment of society.

HARSHIT XI - A 24
Sustainable 25

Development
Goal 6
Clean Water and sanitary, the sixth Sustainable
Development Goal, aims to provide everyone with access to
sufficient sanitary facilities and clean drinking water. It
tackles issues of pollution, insufficient water supply, and
deficient infrastructure, with a focus on protecting
ecosystems and providing fair access to water. By promoting
good cleanliness, this aim aims to stop infections that are
spread by water. Investing in infrastructure, promoting
hygiene, and sustainable water management are all
necessary to achieve clean water and sanitation. The
objective recognises the interconnectedness of water
resources with human development and ecological health,
and by addressing water-related issues, it promotes health,
environmental sustainability, and general well-being.

VARUN XI - C
Sustainable
Development Goal 7

The "Affordable and Clean Energy" goal is the seventh

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). Its goal is to
guarantee that everyone has access to modern,
dependable, and sustainable energy sources. In order
to produce energy in a cleaner and more sustainable
manner, it is imperative that energy efficiency be
promoted, renewable energy sources be used more
extensively, and infrastructure be improved. The
worldwide community hopes to accomplish this
objective in order to lessen the negative effects of
energy use on the environment, decrease dependency
on fossil fuels, and increase access to energy services,
especially in developing nations. In order to address
climate change and promote a more sustainable and
equitable energy landscape, the Affordable and Clean
Energy SDG is essential.
ANMOL XI - C 26
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 8
The eighth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) lays
forth a roadmap for strong economies and a flourishing
workforce. Known as "Decent Work and Economic
Growth," this is the international strategy for generating
employment, promoting stability in the economy, and
guaranteeing ethical labor standards. Imagine a society
in which every person has the opportunity to pursue
fulfilling work, where employment serves as a doorway to
dignity and well-being rather than merely a means of
subsistence. This objective sees thriving economies that
help everyone, severing the links that bind inequality,
and creating conditions that allow companies to expand
ethically. It's about empowering people, encouraging
inclusive economic growth, and creating societies where
everyone can contribute to and benefit from prosperity—
it's not just about numbers on a balance sheet.

ISHANT XI-A 27
SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT
GOAL 9
Akin to an innovation manifesto, the ninth
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is named
ROHIT XI - A
"Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure." It's an
appeal to use innovative technology, robust
infrastructure, and inclusive industrialization to
transform our planet. Imagine a world in which
invention is the lifeblood of growth, industries are
sustainable, and creativity and advancement are
thriving. This objective is to provide the framework
for resilient societies by making sure that the
infrastructure is both strong and ecologically
friendly. It's a road plan for generating concepts,
encouraging innovation, and building the
groundwork for a society in which advancement is
advantageous to everybody. By embracing
innovation and environmentally friendly
infrastructure, we're building a future in which
advancement will only be beneficial.

28
Sustainable Development
Goal 10
The tenth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), "Reduced
Inequality," aims to lessen the gap between the haves and
have-nots. It represents a dedication to removing obstacles,
encouraging equal opportunities, and cultivating inclusive
society. Imagine a world in which money, resources, and
opportunities are more evenly divided, guaranteeing that no
one falls behind. This objective focuses on wealth inequality,
discriminatory legislation, and societal inequities in order to
provide a more fair playing field for all. Reduced Inequality
serves as a lighthouse for societies in which everyone,
regardless of origin or situation, has the opportunity to
prosper.

SHAURYA XI - C 29
Sustainable
Development
Goal 11

Creating inclusive, secure, resilient, and

sustainable urban environments is the
goal of Sustainable Cities and
Communities, the eleventh Sustainable
Development Goal (SDG). This
objective aims to solve issues with
housing, transportation, air quality,
and public spaces in light of the global
trend towards increased urbanisation.
It places a strong emphasis on
affordable housing, disaster resilience,
and sustainable urban development.
The SDG promotes investment in
environmentally friendly and accessible
infrastructure as well as collaborative NITISH XI - A
decision-making. Governments, local
governments, and the private sector
must work together to achieve
sustainable cities and communities,
which will prioritise social inclusion,
economic prosperity, and
environmental sustainability for all
citizens, thereby fostering a more
livable and equitable urban future.
30
2023

Sustainable
Development
Goal 12
In order to guarantee sustainable
patterns of consumption and production,
the twelfth Sustainable Development
Goal (SDG) is Responsible Consumption
and Production. This objective deals with
how pollution, waste production, and
resource utilisation affect the
environment. It highlights how important
it is to separate resource depletion and
environmental deterioration from
economic growth. The SDG promotes
resource efficiency, the adoption of
sustainable practices, and waste
reduction across the product lifetime.
Achieving Responsible Consumption and
Production requires encouraging
sustainable lifestyles, deploying eco-
friendly technology, and nurturing a
DAKSH XI - A circular economy. This objective seeks to
reduce environmental damage and
support a more resilient and sustainable
global economy by addressing production
practices and consumption patterns.
31
2023
Sustainable
Development Goal 13
The thirteenth Sustainable Development
Goal (SDG) is Climate Action, which calls
for immediate action to tackle climate
change and its consequences. This aim
recognises the global issue of climate
change and emphasises the necessity of
reducing greenhouse gas emissions,
strengthening resilience to climate-related
risks, and promoting sustainable
behaviours. The SDGs stimulate
international collaboration in climate
financing and technology transfer. Climate
Action entails enacting policies and
initiatives to reduce global warming,
adapting to climate consequences, and
supporting sustainable development
practices. By tackling climate change, this
objective aims to protect ecosystems,
communities, and create a sustainable and
resilient future for everyone.

JATIN XI - B

33
Sustainable
Development Goal 14
Life Below Water is the
fourteenth Sustainable
Development Goal (SDG), with
the goal of conserving and using
oceans, seas, and marine
resources in a sustainable
manner. This aim recognises the
importance of oceans in
managing the Earth's climate and
maintaining biodiversity.
Overfishing, pollution, and marine
habitat degradation are among
the issues addressed. The SDGs
encourage sustainable fisheries,
marine conservation, and
pollution reduction. Achieving Life
Below Water entails protecting
and restoring marine ecosystems,
managing fisheries sustainably,
and addressing the effects of
climate change on oceans. This
objective helps both marine PRATEEK VI- A
species and human groups that
rely on ocean resources by
preserving the health and
resilience of marine ecosystems.
34
Sustainable Development
Life on Land is the sixteenth
Goal 15 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG),
which seeks to maintain, restore, and
promote sustainable use of terrestrial
ecosystems, prevent biodiversity loss,
and combat desertification and land
degradation. This aim acknowledges
the critical role that biodiversity and
healthy ecosystems play in
maintaining life on the planet. It
addresses concerns including
deforestation, habitat degradation,
and animal trafficking. The SDGs
encourage sustainable land
SHIVA XI - A management, conservation, and land
restoration. Life on Land entails
preserving biodiversity, conserving
endangered species, and encouraging
sustainable land-use planning. This
aim promotes environmental
sustainability, ecological resilience,
and the well-being of terrestrial
ecosystems and human populations by
34 addressing land-related issues.
Sustainable
Development Goal 16
The sixteenth Sustainable Development
Goal (SDG) is Peace, Justice, and Strong
Institutions, which seeks to create
peaceful and inclusive communities, offer
access to justice, and construct effective,
accountable, and transparent institutions.
This aim recognises the significance of
establishing violence-free society,
providing equal access to justice, and
supporting responsible governance. It
tackles topics including violence,
corruption, and a lack of competent
legal structures. The SDGs emphasise the
rule of law, human rights protection, and
the need for robust and responsible
institutions at all levels. To achieve
peace, justice, and strong institutions,
non-discriminatory laws must be
promoted, corruption must be combated,
and equal access to justice must exist. AADITYA XI - A
Addressing these difficulties helps to
create stable, just, and inclusive societies
across the world.

35
Sustainable Partnerships for the Goals is the
seventeenth and final SDG. This
Development aim acknowledges the necessity for

Goal 17
worldwide collaboration to fulfil the
other sixteen goals. It emphasizes
the significance of collaboration
among governments, the
commercial sector, civil society, and
international organizations in
mobilizing resources, exchanging
information, and carrying out
sustainable development projects.
The SDGs promote inclusive and
multi-stakeholder partnerships that
may draw on the capabilities of
many parties to address difficult
global issues. Achieving
Partnerships for the Goals entails
encouraging cooperation,
exchanging technology and
expertise, and supporting
sustainable practices at the local,
national, and global levels. This
objective emphasizes the
interconnection of global concerns,
as well as our common obligation
DHAIRYA XI - A to work towards a more sustainable
and equitable future.

Our Earth is also known as

the blue planet as 70% of its
area is covered with water.
Water is a symbol of life,
every living organism needs
water to survive. Life exists
both on land and water.
Let’s put some light on the
life below water. There is a huge world of species
that exists underwater. Aquaculture contributes to
eliminating hunger and improving health. Seafood is
rich in nutrients. Responsible production and proper
consumption of our sea wealth help us in attaining all 17
SDGs. So, it’s our responsibility to provide a clean and
appropriate environment for the growth and
development of water life. In the past few years,
overpopulation has impacted our ecosystem. Excess use
of sea resources leads to deteriorating marine life.
2

43
What we all can do for the sustainable development of life below water
are:-
·
CONSERVE WATER

Do not waste water so that excess waste water does not flow to the
oceans. Clean ocean means healthy marine life.
·
REDUCE WASTE
Practice reusing things so that less waste comes out of every house leads
to less garbage and debris in oceans.
·
SHOP WISELY
Buy only useful and environment-friendly things. Avoid plastic products.
Use a reusable cloth bag.
·
LESS CHEMICALS
Practice using organic products that are nature-friendly. Chemicals make
the water toxic and no life can exist in toxic water be it aquatic plants or
aqua organisms.
·
AVOID OVERFISHING
When too many fish are taken out of the oceans it creates an imbalance
in marine life.
·
VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITY
Clean-up activity done by volunteers from different organizations helps
in maintaining clean water life. Cleanliness drives near rivers, beaches of
seas by students help create awareness among society towards marine
life.
All these and many more activities sensitized towards marine life help in
the sustainable growth and development of Life Below Water.

As we say adieu to this edition, I would like to

extend my sincere gratitude to the incredible
team that made our magazine a reality. Every
page is a creative creation, a union of several
voices and artistic styles that together capture
the essence of our institution. These pages
contain stories that bear witness to our common
experiences, preserving them in a textual and
visual form like a time capsule. I extend an
invitation to you to lose yourself once more in
the stories, letting the images and words create
a tapestry of treasured memories. This
magazine is very exceptional because of your
involvement in this adventure. This chapter has
come to an end, and many more stories will soon
be revealed. I'm appreciative of your being an
essential component of our community of
storytellers. I hope you enjoy reading, thinking
back, and envisioning the chapters to come!
