Slide 1:

Hello everyone!! My name is Dilpreet and welcome to

today’s presentation. My presentation topic is, “How to

make traditional Indian sweet dish named Kheer?”

Slide 2:

I would like to start my presentation by letting you guys

know my today’s agenda. So, I would be explaining the

definition of Kheer like basically, what it is. Its

ingredients, preparation, serving techniques, some tips

and tricks, some health benefits which one must know and

then at last the conclusion.

Slide 3:

So what basically is Kheer?

Kheer is a famous south Asian dessert made from slow-

cooked rice, milk and sugar. You can think of a rice

pudding as well. It is somewhat similar to that. It’s often

flavoured with saffron strands, some cardamom, raisins

and nuts (like almonds, cashews and pistachios). It is a

popular Indian cuisine, commonly served at special

occasions and festivals.

Slide 4:

Let’s talk about the ingredients needed for it. So, our first

ingredient is rice. You can use Basmati rice for its

aromatic flavour. Next, we need is milk. The use of full-

fat milk gives it super creamy texture. Then we need

sugar. We can add cardamom, saffron, nuts, raisins to

garnish it. But these are totally optional.

Slide 5:

Proceeding further, lets directly jump into its preparation.

First of all, you need to rinse the rice twice or thrice and

soak it in water for at least 30 minutes. Then take a heavy-

bottomed pan and pour milk into it and bring it to boil on

medium heat. Once the milk is boiled, drain the water

from the soaked rice and add it to the boiling milk. Cook

on low heat and stir occasionally until the rice is soft and

the milk thickens. Remember, stirring is very important

else it would stick to the bottom of the pan. Then add

sugar, crushed cardamon, saffron strands and chopped

nuts. Stir well and cook for a few more minutes until the

Kheer reaches the desired consistency.

Slide 6:
Once it is prepared, it can be served hot as well as cold

depending on your preference. While serving, you can

garnish some additional chopped nuts and saffron strands

just to make a beautiful presentation of it.

Slide 7:

Now I would like to give you some tips and tricks. You

can use jaggery instead of sugar. Use of full-fat milk will

give it a creamy texture.

Slide 8:

Not only it is a tasty and popular Indian cuisine but also it

has certain health benefits like, it helps to improve the gut

health. Cold Kheer gives a cooling effect. It contains good

amount of Vitamin C and Vitamin A. It also serves as a

good source of calcium and is low in cholesterol.

Slide 9:

At last, I would conclude my presentation by saying that

trying different cuisines and especially the healthier ones

make us happy. Kheer is considered as a delightful and

comforting dessert that brings happiness on every

person’s face no matter whatever the occasion is. It is one

of the easiest dishes to prepare in just three steps in total.

Just add soaked rice in boiling milk, add sugar and add

flavours accordingly.

If there is any one thing that I can tell you about preparing

and having Kheer is that it is not only easy to prepare but

also it provides certain health benefits and a smile on

face. Thank you for joining me today, and I hope you will

give Kheer a try soon!
