myKumon Portal FAQ

Frequently asked questions regarding myKumon Portal including how to register and what information is being
displayed is shared in this document.

Registration Process & Login

How do I register to access the Portal?
• Parents can only register after they obtain the 13-digit Student ID(s) for their child(ren).

Go to the Portal specific for your country:

• US: mykumon.com
• Canada (English): ca.mykumon.com
• Canada (French): fr.mykumon.com

• Click on “Register here” and fill out the required information.

Parents with multiple children only need to register once. Complete the registration process by registering with
one of the children’s Student ID. During the registration process you will be asked to create a username and
password. Siblings can be added in the account Settings after the registration process is complete.

I have more than one child in Kumon? How do I register a sibling?

Once you register for the portal with one child, you can then add siblings in the account Settings through
the gear symbol located at the top right-hand corner.
• Click on the “Add Student” button.
• Fill out the required information, select an Avatar of your choice and then click the “Save Changes”
button.
• Click on the arrow on the top left of the student avatar and select the name of the student to view their
portal.

Why am I unable to register my child?

• Incorrect information: Please confirm with your Kumon Instructor that the 13-digit Student ID, date of
birth and student’s name is the same as what was provided when the student registered with Kumon. Your
Instructor will need to correct any inaccurate information.

• Multiple registration attempts: If you have already registered a child and you receive the message “This
email address is already in use by another account.”, it is because an account has already been created for
one of your children. Students can only be registered in a single account with a single user (email account).
Any siblings must be added through the account Settings.

I forgot my username and/or password, what do I do?

• Forgot Username: From the login page, click on “Wait! I forgot my Username” and follow the prompts to
obtain your username.
• Forgot Password: From the login page, enter your Username and “Log in”. You can then click on “Wait! I
forgot my Password” and follow the prompts.

How long does a parent have access to the portal after they discontinue from the Kumon program?
Discontinued students will lose access to the portal and access to redeem the gift cards after the 8th of the
following month they’re reported as discontinued (D) in all subjects. For example, if a student is only enrolled in
Math and discontinues in May, the portal will no longer be accessible after June 8th.

Dashboard
What can I see on the Dashboard?
The Dashboard displays the menu of the information available through the portal.
Other sections (Progress, Achievements, Referral Program, Resources & Center Information) can be assessed
through both the main page and the left side menu.
Progress
What can I see under the Progress Section?
The Progress section provides an overview of the child’s progress in their Kumon study based on last month’s
reporting. Parents and students can toggle between subjects if they are enrolled in multiple subjects.

Progress Chart:
• Displays past 6 months of progress history. Parents can toggle between subjects if they enroll in multiple
subjects.
• Up to two KIS/ASHR lines may be displayed on the progress chart to showcase the student’s level in
comparison to the KIS (Kumon International Standard)/ASHR (Advanced Student Honor Roll)
standards. Details regarding the KIS/ASHR standards can be found under the Achievement section.

How to understand the Progress Chart?

Parents can learn about how to read the Progress Chart by clicking on “Progress Chart Explanation Video”. You can
also reach out to your Instructor to discuss specific questions regarding your child.

How can I see my child’s progress history for longer than the past 6 months?
Please contact your Instructor to discuss any questions you have about your child’s progress.

When will my child move to the next level? Or why has my child been at the same level for X months?
Practice is key in Kumon. Once your child has mastered one concept, they move confidently on to the next. Certain
concepts might warrant more repetition than others for certain students. Learn more about why repetition is so
important in the Kumon Program. For questions about your child’s progress, please reach out to your Instructor.

My child is enrolled in multiple subjects. Will I be able to see all subjects?

Parents can toggle between subjects if their child(ren) are enrolled in multiple subjects.
Study Challenge

I heard some families can earn eGift Cards.

The Kumon Study Challenge was created for new families enrolled as of March 2024 or later to encourage new
students to aim for continuous study in the first year of their Kumon journey. Families enrolled prior to this date are
not eligible to participate.

When will I be able to redeem my eGift Cards?

The “Redeem” button will turn green and become redeemable after the student has been enrolled for 6- or 12
months, after the 9th of the 7th month or 13th month respectively. For example, if a student enrolled in March and
stayed enrolled through August, the 6-month gift card will become redeemable after September 9th. Gift Cards are
awarded per student, not subject.

Do gift cards expire?

Redeem: Gift Cards must be redeemed within ninety (90) days of becoming redeemable. Gift Cards not redeemed
within ninety (90) days will be forfeited.
Expire: Amazon Gift Cards don’t expire after they have been redeemed from myKumon Portal. However, this is
subject to Amazon’s gift card terms and conditions.

What happens if my child goes absent within the 6- or 12-month period?

To earn 6-month and 12-month gift cards, your child must be enrolled continuously and actively for 6 months and
12 months respectively, without any absent months. An absent month refers to any month where tuition is not
collected and worksheets have not been given for the month.

Kumon Study Challenge Rules can be viewed once you log in to the portal and only display if your child is eligible
for the challenge.

Achievements
What is displayed in the Achievement section?

Levels Completed:
• The first badge displayed is the level that the student started on when they enrolled.
• Colored badges showcase the levels already completed.
• Grey badges indicate future levels to be completed.
• You can click on any badge to display the level description.

Milestone:
• Badges are earned based on length of enrollment per subject enrolled. For example, if the student has
been enrolled for 1 year in Math, the badges for 3 Months, 6 Months & 1 Year milestones will be
displayed.
Awards
What are all the available awards?
The Kumon program is an educational method that focuses on individualized learning and aims to help students
develop strong academic skills. Students can achieve various milestones and recognition within the program.
Please visit our blog to learn more about the awards and milestones students can achieve while enrolled at Kumon.

What do the grey badges indicate?

Grey badges indicate awards that are achievable in future based on a student’s current level in the Kumon
Program. The text “Achievable” in English will display below the badge.
Badges for awards that are no longer achievable will be removed. For example, the C by 1 badge will be removed if
the student studying level B has moved to grade 2.

How do I download my child’s Honor Roll Certificate?

Once available, the most recent Honor Roll Certificate can be downloaded under Achievements.

Are the Honor Roll Certificate available in French?

At the moment French certificates are not available through the myKumon Portal, however they can be obtained as
a paper copy from your instructor. We expect to have the French certificates available through the portal soon. ESL
awards are also not yet visible on the myKumon Portal. We appreciate your patience as we complete these
sections.
