2. Derive an expression for the capacitance of an air –cored, parallel plate capacitor. How will the expression for
capacitance modify when ---
i) a dielectric slab of thickness ‘t’ is introduced between the plates?
ii) a conducting slab of thickness ‘t’ is introduced between the plates?
In each case, write the expression for capacitance when the slab thickness becomes equal to the plate
separation.
3. Obtain expression for energy stored in a parallel plate capacitor. Hence derive expression for energy density.
