1. The study of civics help us Civic sense means being aware of our

II. Answer these questions.

1. Who is a citizen? Write two responsibilities of a good citizen.


Ans. Any person who is born in a country is a citizen of that country. This is called
citizenship by birth. Two responsibilities to be a good citizens are as follows-:
● Respects other citizens
● Obeys rules and fulfils her/his duties.
2. Who is a neighbour? Write two ways in which you can be a good neighbour.
Ans. Neighbours are the people who live near us. The two ways in which we can be a
good neighbour are as follows-:
● Be polite and kind to one another.
● Help one another in times of need.

3. What is an election?
Ans. Election is a process of choosing leaders through voting. These leaders then form
a government to run the country.

4. Write three ways in which we can take care of public property.


Ans Three ways are as follows-:
● We must not throw garbage on the road, in parks and so on.
● We must not damage the seats in buses and other public transports.
● We must never write on the walls of monuments.

III. Think and answer.


● Usha and Manju were playing in the school playground. They did not let other
classmates play with them. Were Usha and Manju being good citizens? Give
reasons for your answer.
Ans No, Usha and Manju were not being good citizens as they were not letting other
classmates play with them. A good citizen respects other citizens.
