Read the following instructions carefully:
1. This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, Questions no. 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and question no.s 19 and 20 are
Assertion- Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
4. In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 02 marks each.
5. In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 03 marks each.
6. In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 05
marks each.
7. In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study-based questions carrying 4 marks each with sub parts of the
values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
8. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Question of Section B, 2 Questions of
Section C and 2 Questions of Section D has been provided. Internal choice has been provided in all the 2
marks questions of Section E.
9. Draw neat and clean figures wherever required.
10. Take π =22/7 wherever required if not stated.

21 The lengths of two ropes are 84 meters and 126 meters. They need to be cut into smaller pieces of the 2
same length. What is the maximum length of each piece?

State the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic. Check whether 5×7×11+7 is a composite number.

25 A city council wants to place a billboard along a main road that runs between two points, A(2,3) and 2
B(8,15), on a coordinate grid where each unit represents 10 meters. The billboard should be
positioned at a point that divides the road in the ratio 2:3, closer to point A. Find the coordinates of
the location where the billboard should be placed.

32 State and prove the Basic proportionality theorem. Using the theorem prove that if ABCD is a 5

know the following facts:
1. The sum of the digits of the membership code is 11.
2. If the digits are swapped, the new membership code is 27 more than the original code.
Determine the original membership code.
Section E
Section E consists of 3 case study-based questions of 4 marks each.
36 The Colosseum in Rome is a majestic amphitheatre with a combination of cylindrical, conical,
spherical, and cuboidal sections. The architectural design of the Colosseum blends these shapes in a
unique way. Based on the geometrical properties, answer the questions below:(

(i)The top of the Colosseum has a conical shape with a height of 24 meters and a radius of 32
meters. What is the surface area of the conical portion, excluding the base? 2
(ii)A model of the Colosseum is being constructed at a scale of 1:100. The height of the
cylindrical portion in the model is 48 cm, and the radius is 50 cm. Calculate the volume (in dm)
of the cylindrical portion of the model.
OR
The model of the Colosseum is made from a material that weighs 8 grams per cubic
centimetre. Calculate the weight (in kg) of the model's spherical dome, if the dome's radius in 2
the model is 50 cm.
37 A workshop is being conducted over a week (7 days), where participants spend increasing amounts of
time on different tasks each day. On the first day, the total time spent on all tasks is 30 minutes. Each
subsequent day, the time spent increases by 10 minutes. The
participants aim to complete a set of tasks by the end of the week,
using this time progression. Answer the given questions below:
(i)On which day did the participants spend exactly 70 minutes.

(ii)What is the total time spent on tasks by the end of the 6th

(iii)If the workshop continued for 10 days instead of 7, and the
participants followed the same time progression, by what day

smaller set of tasks, how much time would be left to complete the remaining tasks by the end
of Day 10?
38 A bird is perched at the top of a tall 80-meter-high tree. From a point on the ground, the observer initially
observes the bird at an angle of elevation of 45°. After 2 seconds, the bird flies horizontally, maintaining
a constant height of 80 meters above the ground. As the bird moves, the angle of depression from the
bird’s position (after it has flown horizontally) to the point on the ground decreases to 30°.

(i) Draw a diagram to represent the following data.


(ii) Find the horizontal distance of the bird from the point
on the ground when it is initially observed at a height of 1
80 meters with an angle of elevation of 45°.
(iii)After 2 seconds, when the angle of elevation of the bird
becomes 30°, Calculate the horizontal distance travelled 1
by the bird in 2 seconds.
OR
Calculate the initial distance between the bird and the
