A. PRONUNCIATION
1. Watch the videos about 5 sounds /ai/ , /ei/ , /oi/ , /aʊ/ and /əʊ/. Record yourself
speaking all the words in the videos.
2. Listen to the audio about 3 sounds /ai/ , /ei/ , /oi/. Record yourself speaking all the
words in the audio. (Track 1)

B. LISTENING
Storyteller: This is Gonzalo. (1) ___________________. At the moment, he is living and
working in New York. Every day, he takes photos of (2) _______________. Gonzalo came
to New York two years ago from Guatemala. He found a job and he’s now living in the East
Village. He has a photography studio in his apartment and he uses (3) _________________.
Gonzalo loves his life and his work but he wasn’t always a photographer.
Gonzalo: I went to school for something completely different. I went to Law school. I
graduated from Law school. I went to UFM and I have a law degree from UFM. But when
I graduated I was not happy with my (4) ________________.
Storyteller: Gonzalo was working for a newspaper when he decided to become a
photographer and moved to the United States. Gonzalo now works as a (5) _____________.
He uses several different cameras and lenses, but one camera is particularly special.

Gonzalo: My first camera, uhm, actually is this one. Uhm, I inherited it from my grandfather.
