Identification of positions

1. Connect the positive (+) lead of the multitester

to pos. 2.
2. Move the lever to the forward (V) position.
connect the negative (-) lead to pos. 4.
There should be contimuity between these
2 positions.
3. Move the lever to the neutral (N) position.
Connect the negative (-)lead to pos. 5.
There should be continuity between these 2
positions.
4. Move the lever to the reverse (R) position.
Connect the negative (-)lead to pos. 6. There
should be continuity between these 2
positions.
5. Move the lever to the T+ position. Connect the
negative (-) lead to pos. 7. There should be
continuity between these 2 postions.

Identification of the positions

6. Move the lever to the T- position. Connect the

negative (-) lead to pos. 8. There should be
continuity between the 2 leads.
7. Move the lever to the ‘Manual/Auto’ position.
Connect the negative (-) lead to pos.10.
Depress the signal button. There should be
continuity these 2 leads.

During the testing it is important

to confirm that there is only continuity
between the positions being tested.
There should not be continuity at any
other point.

There are several codes that can

appear in the digital display that
refer to the EST37 receiving incorrect
signals. The incorrect signals would
come from the shifter. Testing the
shifter in the method described above
can isolate the problem.
