 Full Name: Narendra Damodardas Modi


 Born: September 17, 1950, Vadnagar, Gujarat, India
 Family: Modi hails from a lower-middle-class family. His father, Damodardas
Modi, ran a tea stall, and his mother, Hiraben Modi, was a homemaker. He
helped his father in the tea stall during his childhood.
 Education: Modi completed his early education in Vadnagar and holds a
bachelor's degree in Political Science from Delhi University and a Master's
degree in Political Science from Gujarat University.
Political Career:
 Early Involvement:
o Narendra Modi was actively involved in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak
Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organization, from a young age.
o He rose through the ranks of the RSS and later joined the Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP), where he became known for his organizational skills.
 Chief Minister of Gujarat (2001-2014):
o Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, following the
resignation of Keshubhai Patel.
o His tenure was marked by significant economic development and
industrial growth in Gujarat. However, his leadership was also
controversial due to the 2002 Gujarat riots, which led to widespread
criticism and accusations of his involvement in not preventing the
violence.
o Despite the controversy, Modi remained popular in Gujarat, and he was
re-elected multiple times as Chief Minister.
 Prime Minister of India (2014-Present):
o In 2014, Modi led the BJP to a sweeping victory in the Indian general
elections, becoming the 14th Prime Minister of India.
o His party won 282 seats, giving it an absolute majority in the Lok
