3. What is quality assurance and how does it affect project execution? What is
benchmarking and how can benchmarks assist in performing quality
assurance? Describe typical benchmarks associated with a polytechnic.
Quality assurance includes all the activities related to satisfying the relevant quality
standards for a project and continuously improving quality
It affects execution by helping everyone focus on quality and not just rushing through
completion of work (continual quality improvement).
Benchmarking is the process of generating ideas of quality improvements by
comparing specific project practices or product characteristics to those of other
projects or products within or outside of the performing organization.
