Program Objectives 1. The Program aims to provide students with a strong basis in data analysis, statistical modeling, cloud technologies
and their practical use, cutting-edge knowledge and skills in AI and ML technologies, expertise in data analysis,
algorithm development, and machine learning model implementation
2. The objective is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to extract valuable insights from data, enabling them
to make informed decisions and solve intricate problems across diverse industries, gain the necessary knowledge
and abilities to create, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions, to apply AI and ML techniques across diverse
industries, drive innovation, and contribute to solving complex problems
3. It also provides knowledge about cloud architecture, administration, and cloud-based software development careers,
meeting the increasing demand for cloud computing professionals in today's digital world
4. Through hands-on projects and real-life situations, students will develop proficiency in processing, analyzing, and
interpreting vast datasets. This program aims to prepare students for careers as data scientists, analysts, and decision-
makers who rely on data in today's rapidly evolving, data-driven world.
Program Learning 1. Understand principles and advanced concepts related to computer applications, including artificial intelligence,
Outcomes (PLOs) machine learning, cloud computing, data science, and data analytics.
2. Use advanced cognitive skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, to
evaluate complex problems in computer applications in an evolving global technological landscape.
3. Apply theoretical learning in specific contexts through hands-on experience.
4. Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
5. Demonstrate ethical standards in professional practice and awareness of the social and ethical implications.
6. Demonstrate the ability to do research in the area of computer applications contributing to advancing knowledge
in the field
2
Eligibility A minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in Standard XII (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a
recognized Board.
English Proficiency: A minimum score of 1100 on the English language portion of the EmSAT examination or its
equivalent on other national or internationally-recognized tests that are approved by the CAA, such as a TOEFL score
of 500 (173 CBT, 61 iBT), or a 5.0 IELTS academic.
Selection Procedure The Admission Committee will shortlist the applications based on the student’s previous academic track record,
English Proficiency Test, Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendation, Passport copy, and CV (Curriculum
Vitae). Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview. SIU, Dubai will then declare the merit list of the
selected candidates.

Assessment The courses will have 60% Continuous Assessment and 40% Semester End examination. However, some courses
(not more than 30% of the total program credits) may have 100% Continuous Assessment.
Standard of The assessment of the student for each examination is done based on absolute grading. Maximum Grade Point
Passing (GP) is 10, corresponding to A+. For all courses, a student is required to pass both Continuous Assessment and
Semester End examinations separately with a minimum Grade Point of 6 corresponding to Grade D. Students
securing less than D or 60% marks in any head of passing will be declared FAIL in that particular course. The
University awards a degree to the student who has achieved a minimum CGPA of 6 out of 10 CGPA for the
program.

The institute utilizes multiple pedagogies to cater to student diversity and different learning styles, including lectures, presentations, case-based
learning, experiential learning, projects, assignments, computer laboratories, etc. Presentations, take-home assignments, and projects encourage
students to participate actively in their own learning process. SIU has a learner diversity policy to support students of different abilities. In order
to provide additional support to those who may require it, we will offer remedial classes to help individuals meet the program requirements. Since
SIU follows a continuous assessment policy, students can improve their learning and grades throughout the semester. The course structure and
program delivery appeals to students with a variety of skill sets and aptitudes.
Assessment
The program uses multiple assessment methods as a part of continuous evaluations and semester-end assessments to cater to student diversity and
learning styles, including written tests, exams, projects, assignments, multiple choice questions, class activities, presentations, viva, practical
assessments, and the like. Diverse assessment methods also help to measure different aspects of the CLOs holistically. A credit system based on
absolute grading will be adopted to keep up with global assessment practices. The respective faculty of each course will carry out continuous
assessments at the department level, while the Academic Audit Committee will monitor the quality of these assessments. A Scrutiny and
Moderation Committee will be established to ascertain that question papers for semester-end exams are of high quality and that grades are fairly
distributed.
14
Course and Program Evaluation
The department engages with all stakeholders, including students, faculty, industry experts, potential employers, and alumni, to evaluate the
program. Student feedback is collected for all courses. The program is reviewed annually based on stakeholder feedback and approved through a
rigorous governance process that adopts a bottom-up approach, starting with the Program Review Committee at every program and going through
the Academic Committee for review and approval. Curricular feedback from all stakeholders, student feedback on the teaching, learning, and
evaluation, student pass percentage, and student progression are used to assess the program's effectiveness comprehensively. In addition to direct
program evaluation through assessments, indirect assessment will be done through surveys and questionnaires from alumni, recruiters, and other
relevant stakeholders.
