steps by the graphical method.
1. Par, Inc., is a small manufacturer of golf equipment and supplies. Par has been convinced by its
distributor that there is an existing market for both a medium-priced golf bag, referred to as a
standard model, and a high-priced golf bag, referred to as a deluxe model. A careful analysis of
the manufacturing requirements resulted in the following table, which shows the production
time requirements for the four required manufacturing operations and the accounting
department’s estimate of the profit contribution per bag.
2. A special diet for laboratory animals is to contain at least 400 units of vitamins, at least 300 units
of minerals and at least 300 units of calories. There are two feed mixes available, Mix A and Mix
B. A gram of Mix A contains 4 units of vitamins, 6 units of minerals, and 2 units of calories. Mix B
contains 5 units of vitamins, 3 units of minerals, and 5 units of calories. Mix A costs P10 per gram
and Mix B costs P15 per gram. How many grams of each mix should be used to satisfy the
requirements of the diet at minimal costs?
