Introduction:
Good afternoon everyone, I am KC Lam from Deloitte Consulting, together with my
teammates Jeffery, Tony, and Ansen. We are here today to support the growth of Kitchen
Best. First and foremost, I would like to say that your contributions and achievements in
managing Kitchen Best are really impressive. We understand that you, as the managing
team, care a lot about the career pathway, right. However, we have noticed some upcoming
challenges that may hinder your opportunity of being promoted, or even lead to potential
legal consequences that will put you at risk. But no worries, we are here to provide solutions.
In this presentation, we will first analyse the potential challenges for you to get a better
understanding of the current situation. Afterwards, we will introduce 3 recommendations.

Without further ado, let's look into the current challenges we have identified.
First of all, since Europe and America have rather different cultures than China, the business
practices adopted before may not be suitable in those countries.

As the legal restrictions for businesses are becoming stricter in the recent decade, there may
be legal concerns about how you handle relationships with third parties. For example, you
are not allowed to receive gifts from the clients or give gifts to them if the gifts exceed a
certain amount. In addition, you are not allowed to outsource the production process to the
factories with people who are highly connected with you.

This will harm the company’s reputation and eventually damage your images. Importantly,
China has some active laws against such actions which are punished by imprisonment and
fines. Thus, you should be aware of this.

Secondly, improper vetting control contributes to ineffective quality control.

Currently, the managing team is not strategic in product provision and eventually the
customer retention deteriorates. Since product quality is highly valued by other businesses,
further investing resources in improving product quality is essential to outcompete your
competitors. In light of this, we have come up with three solutions. I will now pass the time to
my colleague, Jeffery, to dive into the details of our first recommendation.

1st Solution:
Thanks, KC. We have considered three recommendations regarding the timeframe. These
recommendations can increase the profitability of the business model, meanwhile, reduce
your workload. Let’s begin with the first one, SEC. We suggest that it should be applied in
the short term and it consists of three systems. (Click)

Firstly, S in SEC stands for supply chain management system. (Click)

Based on a supply chain management system, Kitchen Best should adopt a cloud-based
commerce network. In the cloud, suppliers will input the manufacturing data and you can
also place the order. (Click)
In fact, there are many companies using such a system. Nike is a good example. Now, some
of you may wonder, how does it help you? (Click)
A supply chain management system allows effective and seamless information flow. It can
address information distortion and miscommunication and enhance the collaboration and
relationship value between Kitchen best and the suppliers. At the same time, it can also
improve the visibility of all the transactions when everything is going online.(Click)

Secondly, E stands for the enterprise resource planning system. (Clic

By using an enterprise resource planning system, all the data from different departments,
including sales and marketing, will be retrieved and saved on the central database for data
analyzation. (Click)
So what is the difference between ‘S’ and ‘E’? ‘E’ system is mainly on the internal of Kitchen
Best while ‘s’ is across a few organisations. (Click)
As the old adage said, prevention is better than cure. That’s what ‘E’ system can help. With
‘E’ system the company step up the control and procedures to prevent any accidents that
may happen in the production process. It can also reduce the administration cost and your
workload as the staff is more familiar with the whole production process.(Click)

The last letter C stands for the customer and colleague feedback system. (Click)
Same as its meaning, we would suggest Kitchen Best provides a platform for the customers
to provide feedback. Moreover, colleagues’ comments are essential to the company’s
operation. Therefore, the relationship management system will also extend to the level of
colleagues. They will be invited to fill in the survey about their colleagues and even the
working atmosphere. All these comments are anonymous and will be deleted after three
months. The system can refer to companies like Oracle. (Click)

So, why would it be beneficial to you? Firstly, lower monitoring time is needed as they will
monitor each other. You can focus more on other important duties. Secondly, you can
enhance the manager-staff relationship by linking the reward and the comment system
together. When they get more positive feedback, they are more likely to get rewards, for
example, vacation, and cash prizes.

recommendations applied for the mid term. Tony, please.

2nd Solution:
Thank you Jeffrey. After the implementation of the SEC. I will further extend the information
system with automation by adoption of artificial intelligence and robotics in the mid-term
recommendation. (click)
All of you may worry that automation, AI require professional knowledge to support and
control, but it is not. So, what is the new automation system about? The automation system
will consist of sensor, control and actuators designed to perform quality checks during the
manufacturing process with minimal or no human interventions. It is suggested to apply the
flexible automation method for the quality control process, which allows the system to
respond to production changes and computerised programs to control the machine. The
whole manufacturing and monitoring process can also be transformed into data. Relevant
reports can be generated after data transformation, interpretation and analysis automatically.

On the other hand, the automation system is also assisted by robotics. There will be
machines built to replicate human action. These machines are allowed to take on more
complex traits, including machine learning, memory, and the ability to collaborate more
effectively. These robots can maintain their accuracy and efficiency for setting up a higher
standard for production. Besides, collaborating with robots, they can bring greater presence
to shape the industrial stage for further production. (click)

Afterward, AI, as the brain of the system, which is essential to support the whole automation
system. With the undergone predictive maintenance and large set of data to be generated,
the AI algorithm can bring the company to be digitised and standardised. It can screen out
suitable data by reviewing the operation to generate feedback and make adjustments. The
implementation of AI can optimise the supply chain in an all-rounded and effective way of

In a similar situation, the automobile manufacturing company BMW has applied Nividia
automation solutions with robotics and AI to their manufacturing processes. It brings
advancements and acceleration for their production stages.(click)

All in all, there are many noticeable benefits that you can imagine from short term to long
term. After the construction of the automation system, it can increase the efficiency both time
and speed in cheaper and smarter ways of production. The repeated and dangerous duties
can be replaced. The labour cost and production cost can be saved by a persistence,
accurate and mature system. For the long term development, the automation system can
provide greater internal sustainability of production to the company. There is also higher
flexibility for research and development to enhance and invent products for creating
comparative advantages to the companies. (click)
