Part A :Micro-Project Proposal
On
Online Art Gallery
 Aims/Benefits of the Micro-Project:

An art gallery exhibits the works of many artists. Each artist is given a specified space
on the online webpage. The artists are charged for the space allotted to them on
daily basis. The charges vary in different months. Jan to April and August to
December the charges are Rs 200 per day per exhibit, from May to July charges are
Rs 300 per day per exhibit. Each exhibit has a name and style of painting. The
exhibits can be bought by the online customers who need to register with the art
gallery. The painting is sent to the customer, when customer orders painting. The
system keeps track of the status of delivery of the painting to the customer. This
status can also be seen by the customer.

1.0 Rationale

The restaurant management system is a java project developed for taking and managing
the restaurant orders. It assists the waiters to take the order of food digitally and more
easily than before. This whole project is developed in Java programming language
using Netbeans IDE 8.2. Here in this project, you can add your employee and also can
add the menu items to make your restaurant look fancier. This project comes along
with MySQL database as backend.

2.0 Aim /Benefits of Micro-Project:

1. To make art gallery available virtually

2. Helps to make user order creative art online.

3.0 Course Outcomes Addressed:

1. Develop program using control statement. (CO605.1)

2. Perform operations based on arrays and graphics. (CO605.2)
3. Use form controls with validation to collect user’s input. (CO605.4)
4. Perform database operations in PHP. (CO605.5)
4.0 Literature Review:

A group of three members was formed to work on this micro-project. After researching
various topics, we selected Online Art Gallery as our micro-project topic through

group discussion. The tasks were equally distributed among the team members to
ensure a balanced workload. We explored different research papers, websites, and
books related to online art galleries and studied key concepts such as website
development, database management, user interface design, and online payment
integration. To strengthen our understanding, we sought guidance from our subject
teacher and clarified complex topics. Based on our research, we implemented the
learned concepts in our micro-project, following the planned agenda and outline. We
incorporated relevant diagrams, including system architecture, database schema, and
user flow models, to enhance our project.

Throughout the implementation, we regularly reported to our teacher and made

necessary improvements based on their suggestions. Once the project was finalized, we
got the soft copy checked by our teacher and then prepared a hard copy. On the
submission day, we presented our micro-project to the subject teacher and successfully
submitted it as per the required guidelines

5.0 Methodology followed :

1. In this micro project, first of all we have focused on selection of appropriate topic for the
micro-project.
2. We have decided our topic i.e. “Online Art Gallery”
3. Then we did literature survey on our topic and gained knowledge about existing and
proposed system.
4. Then we gathered all information based on the topic of micro-project.
5. We executed our code.
6. We have done analysis and study of our topic in detail.
7. By doing all the above methodologies we have successfully done our micro project.
Part B :Micro-Project Report
On
Online Art Gallery

1.0 Rationale :

The rationale for this project is to develop a dynamic and user-friendly Online Art
Gallery platform using PHP and MySQL. The objective is to provide artists a digital
space to showcase and sell their artwork while allowing users to browse, purchase, and
interact with various art collections. In the digital age, where e-commerce is rapidly
growing, this project aims to bridge the gap between artists and potential buyers by
offering a virtual marketplace. The platform demonstrates core web development
concepts including session handling, database connectivity, and CRUD operations. This
project also emphasizes the importance of secure, responsive design and the role of
backend logic in managing product listings, user sessions, and billing processes.

2.0 Aims / Benefits of the Micro-Project:

 E-Commerce Implementation Skills:

Gain hands-on experience in building a web-based shopping platform.
 Real-Time Cart Management:
Understand how to manage user sessions for adding, deleting, and updating cart items.
 Database Integration:
Learn to connect, retrieve, and manipulate data from a MySQL database securely.
 Billing and Invoice Automation:
Explore how automated billing systems work with PHP and email notifications.
 User Authentication:
Implement login and registration functionalities for a personalized user experience.
 Enhanced Presentation Skills:
Demonstrate the ability to create clean and structured interfaces using HTML and CSS.
 Security Awareness:
Understand basic principles of web application security such as session control and input
validation.

3.0 Course Outcomes Addressed:

 Develop and deploy PHP-based dynamic web applications using server-side scripting.

 Perform CRUD operations and manage database connectivity using MySQL.

 Implement user authentication and session management.

 Design and build responsive user interfaces using HTML and CSS.
 Apply secure coding practices for developing safe and stable web applications.

 Enhance problem-solving skills through debugging and real-world application scenarios.

4.0 Literature Review:

A group of three members collaborated to develop this micro-project. After brainstorming

multiple ideas, we selected Online Art Gallery as the project due to its relevance in today's
digital and creative world. Each member was assigned specific tasks such as frontend
design, backend logic, and database setup to ensure efficient progress. To begin with, we
referred to multiple online resources, tutorials, and PHP documentation. We studied the
structure of e-commerce websites and analyzed features such as product display, shopping
cart systems, and order placements. Tools like XAMPP were used to simulate a local server
environment, and MySQL was used to manage the database. We also integrated PHPMailer
for sending order confirmation emails.

Our subject teacher guided us throughout the process, helping us debug errors and improve
the structure of our code. Based on suggestions, we made design enhancements and
validated inputs to ensure smooth user interaction. After successful testing, the final output
was documented, soft copy verified, and a hard copy was submitted on the deadline day. A
demo of the project was also presented to the subject teacher for evaluation.
