To check the battery condition, press the Play/Stop button or Rec button.

Install two batteries. (At this time, make sure to match the "+" and "-" ends of the batteries with the diagram inside the compartment.) Then slide the cover back into place.
Release the Hold switch, then press the Rec/Stop button for power ON. Press the Rec/Stop button again after moving the microphone toward the sound sources.

The Play/Stop button cannot stop recording. If nothing enters within 1 minute, the unit will be automatically turned off.

Recording starts when the red lamp lights ON. Simultaneously the recording number,level, and time will be displayed. (The recording number will be the next of the last one.)
q To avoid failure, perform a trial recording first. q If the recording time exceeds the maximum, a message "FULL" appears and the recording no longer continues. q You can record maximum 99messages in each file. If further messages are recorded, a message "FULL" will appear. At this time,record again after selecting a new file.

Recording
You can record your voice even in action by mounting the external microphone on your collar. And you can record with better sound quality when the microphone is closer to the sound source.
The existing recording mode is displayed when the Mode button is pressed. You can select another mode by moving the selection jog button (SEL) up and down. q Wait for about 5 seconds or press one of the other buttons to exit.

When the Mode button is pressed, "VOR OFF" wil be selected. You can select "VOR ON" by moving the selection jog button (SEL) up and down. q If you press the Mode button during the recording, the VOR can be immediately turned ON/OFF.
Press the Mode button and the figure of volume adjustment will appear. You can adjust the volume by moving the selecting jog button (SEL) up and down.

Monitoring the recording
You can listen to the recorded messages using earphones during the recording. (Install the earphones before recording.)

Select a file of A, B, C, and D files by pressing the FILE button then record.

Release the Hold switch, then press the Play/Stop button for power on.
Simple recording
To directly record, press the Rec/Stop button for at least 2.5 seconds in power OFF. q To directly record, press the Rec/Stop button when selecting a mode or during the playback.
Playback starts when the green lamp lights ON. Simultaneously the recording number, level, and time will be displayed. When there is when no recorded messages "NOINFO" will disappear.
Select the volume adjustment mode by pressing the Mode button during the playback. And then adjust the volume by moving the selecting jog button(SEL) up and down.

When the Play button is pressed again, the playback will start from the last stop. The unit will be automatically turned OFF if there is no pressing of another button within one minute.

When you press the FF or REW button long enough during the playback, the playback time will be increased or decreased as much. But when you press them short, the recording number will be increased or decreased then the playback will return.
When you press the FF or REW button long enough in stop mode, the recording number will be increased or decreased fast. But when you press them short, it will be increased or decreased one by one.
Press the Repeat button three times during the playback or stop. If you want to cancel repeating press repeat button several times.

Phone Recording
You can record the messages from a phone (excepting digital phones).
Connect an external cable to the MIC JACK of the voice pen to the earphone jack of an external equipment before recording.

You can monitor the recorded message using earphones. At this time the recording level is not changed by volume controller of the voice pen.
Connect an external cable to the MIC IN JACK of the voice pen to the AUDIO OUT JACK of the adaptor for phone recording. Connect a 30 cm phone cable to the phone to the adaptor for phone recording. Connect the phone line to another jack of the adaptor. Press the Record button, and the messages from the phone will be recorded.

Do not drop the voice pen or give it a mechanical shock. It can cause its hindrance. Do not place the voice pen on the followings: - Hot places (60oC) - Locations exposed to the direct ray of light or near a heater - Cars whose windows are closed - Humid places such as bathrooms - Areas with too much dust Do not apply excessive force to the LCD window. This can cause breakdown or malfunction.
Avoid putting magnetic cards such as credit cards or subway passcard near the speaker. Otherwise the cards can no longer be used. Be understood that our company does not reimburse you for any loss from the use of the voice pen or any demand of indemnity from the third person. Be understood that our company does not take responsibility for any memory loss by reasons of breakdown, repair, and others.
Do not recharge, disassemble, or put the batteries in fire. Electrolytic fluid such as fusible alkalies can flow and hurt your eyes. This can cause heat generation or explosion. When there is electrolytic fluid (such as fusible alkalies) on your clothes or skin, wash it immediately with water. When you have it in your eyes, wash it out and go see a doctor. Do not use different kinds of batteries together. When the voice pen is not used for a long time, remove the batteries.
Do not repair, disassemble, or alter your voice pen yourself. If any malfunction (such as smoke or transformation due to heat) happens, remove batteries immediately. Do not use in airplanes or areas restricting the use of electronic devices. Avoid using the voice pen while driving or walking. It might cause some accidents.

Check that the Voice Pen is connected to your PC (Sound Card). Select the icons in the following sequence: Control panel -> Multimedia -> Audio -> Recording. And then check that the MIC IN is activated in the Recording Control Window. Cancel the mute toggle or select Microphone from Recording control. Too loud sound can cause noise. Adjust the volume using the volume controller of the Voice Pen.
The following message appears on the screen: "VOICE MANAGER. help file was created with a language not support by this version of windows". The following message appears on the screen: "Waveln Open : the actual device can't record this format".
