DAEMEN COLLEGE MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS Daemen College is a private, nonsectarian, co-educational, comprehensive college in Amherst, New York, chartered to award both undergraduate and graduate level degrees. Daemens identity is clear. We insist on a healthy and strategic balance between a liberal arts foundation and solid career preparation. Daemen College offers three different merit scholarships to freshmen and transfer students. The Trustees Scholarship is a full tuition scholarship awarded to freshmen of the highest caliber. The Presidents Scholarship ($7,000-$10,000) and Deans Scholarship ($5,000-$7,000) are awarded annually to freshmen or transfer students of proven academic ability. FLORIDA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ACADEMIC AND TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS Florida Institute of Technology is an independent technological university that provides quality education, furthers knowledge through basic and applied research, and serves the diverse needs of our local, state, national and international constituencies. Academic scholarships are available through the Office of Admission. Scholarships are awarded to students with very strong secondary school grades. Scholarships may be available to qualified students regardless of country of citizenship. Scholarships range from $5,000 to $12,000 per year and are awarded automatically at the time of admission. These scholarships are only awarded to students with no prior community college or university course work. Those students having attended, or who are currently attending, a community college or university may be eligible for a Transfer Scholarship of $8,000 per year ($4,000 per semester) until graduation. HAWAII PACIFIC UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU) is a private, nonprofit university with a student population of approximately 7,000 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students. HPU is one of the most culturally diverse universities in America with students from all 50 U.S. states and more than 100 countries. Hawaii Pacific University awards a limited number of graduate scholarships each fall and spring semesters to new graduate students. These scholarships are available for 2 years, as long as the student is in good standing and maintains a 3.0 GPA. There are three different scholarships available: Trustees Scholarship ($6,000/year); Deans Scholarship ($4,000/year); and Graduate Kokua Scholarship ($2,000/year). CORNELL UNIVERSITY FELLOWSHIPS Today's Cornell reflects this heritage of egalitarian excellence. Both a private university and the land-grant institution of New York State, Cornell University is the most educationally diverse member of the Ivy League. Approximately 20 percent of our doctoral students studying on campus receive Cornell University Fellowships (referred to as Sage Fellowships or Cornell Fellowships depending on the field of study). These fellowships typically include full tuition, a nine-month stipend, and Cornell individual student health insurance. A summer stipend may also be provided to students. GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES FIVE NEW PROGRAMS FOR FALL 2012 Gallaudet University is the world's only university in which all programs and services are specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students. This fall, Gallaudet will offer new programs in Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Pastoral Counseling, Physician Assistant, and Sport Media. These programs are designed for deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing professionals working in local, state, or federal government agencies; non-profit human service organizations; or non-profit professional associations. Mark McKay, former president of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Government (DHHIG) describes these programs as a way to fill a need for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals seeking a professional graduate-level degree for managers and aspiring managers in the executive levels of federal, state, and local government." MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES 11TH ANNUAL GLOBAL UNDERSTANDING CONVENTION Monmouth University Institute for Global Understanding is pleased to announce that its 11th annual Global Understanding Convention will be held from April 2 - 6, 2012. The campus-wide interdisciplinary convention is free and open to the public. This years convention, Freedom, Sustainability, and Security: Creating Interconnected and Inclusive Communities, explores the complex relationships between the environment and human security. WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON COLLEGE INTRODUCES PRECOLLEGE INTERNATIONAL SUMMER PROGRAM Washington & Jefferson College is accepting applications to its new precollege summer program, "College, Career, & Culture" July 16 to August 10. Washington & Jefferson College recently received the Senator Paul Simon Spotlight award for our efforts to internationalize the campus, and this summer program is part of our long-term, on-going effort to bring international diversity to our campus as well as increase global awareness among all students, faculty, and staff. In addition to taking university-level courses, students will have a chance to job shadow, network with leaders in business and politics, and participate in cultural and career related excursions to Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, and beyond. STUDY ABROAD CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE - AND YOUR COUNTRY Fabiola Rodriguez-Ciampoli, who serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, describes the influence that study abroad can have on both a personal and global level. She points out that although most people realize that study abroad can change an individual's life, they often don't recognize how important international exchanges can be as a contribution to relations between our countries. As an example of the impact study abroad can make, Fabiola discusses her interactions with the 100,000 Strong in the Americas initiative which promotes educational exchanges throughout the Western Hemisphere in order to encourage greater prosperity, economic equality, and sustainability. CLARK UNIVERSITY INTRODUCES MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTING PROGRAM The Clark University Graduate School of Management (GSOM) announces a new Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program, beginning in September 2012. The MSA is a natural progression for our graduate programs here at GSOM and Clark, said Joseph Sarkis, GSOM Interim Dean. We already have world class Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Finance programs. The new MSA program allows serious professionals and high quality students seeking CPA licensure a focused road to achieve their career objectives.
