Clinical Area: Boalan, Lying in Maternity Center Clinical Experience: LEVEL II NCM 102, Semester: 2nd Semester Schedule: Mon-Tue-Wed (7:00 AM 3:00 PM) Clinical Instructor: Maria Lourdes E. Porras R.M-R.N.MAN
General Objective: Acquisition and application of knowledge, skills and attitude though the utilization of Nursing Process in providing basic health care services to an individual and family with emphasis on health promotion, maintenance and disease prevention.
Specific Objectives: At the of the 24 hours RLE duty, the students would be able to: 1. Establish rapport with the co-nursing students, clinical instructor, personnel, and the stuff of the health center and as well as the clients in the community.
2. Participate in the pre and post conference actively. 3. Familiarize thoroughly with the health center delivery system assigned such as the following: a) Physical set-up b) Spot map of the barangay c) Organizational chart d) Schedule of activities e) Key personnel of BHS f) Barangay officials
4. Conduct nurse patient-patient interaction explicitly by using the therapeutic techniques of communication. 5. Assist personnel in delivery of health care services to clients during pre-natal check-up, immunization and consultant day. 6. Demonstrate techniques used in assisting clients such as: a) Hand washing technique b) Bag technique c) Vital signs taking and graphing d) Weighing client e) Impart health teachings
7. Conduct ocular survey at the barangay 8. Identify family assessment through home visit 9. Perform family history taking completely to assigned family 10.Gather information regarding initial data base of the family utilizing the therapeutic techniques of communication. 11.Gather information regarding history by utilizing the 1st and 2nd level of assessment on typology of family nursing practice. 12.Rank problems of the family according to the priority of needs appropriately. 13.Formulate a family nursing care plan based on the data gathered appropriately. 14.Perform nursing procedures such as: a) Measuring vital signs b) Home visit c) Bag Technique d) Leopolds maneuver e) Urine collection f) Newborn Screening g) Partograph
