This is an adventure trip for travelers on a limited time & budget. The breathtaking trans-Himalayan flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu & the overland route from Kathmandu to Lhasa to Nepal border offer truly spectacular views of the Himalayas, high mountains passes, ancient monasteries, fortresses & a people & culture of a bygone era. The trip is scheduled to fly in /drive out or drive in / fly out depending on interest and budget of the travelers. All the tours are based in 3 star hotel categories (Deluxe, Standard, Budget). We also specialize in tailor-made itinerary for a private trip as per the requirement of the clients. you'll board a breathtaking flight, taking a first glimpse of destined for Lhasa's Gonggar Airport in Tibet. Here you'll acclimatize and explore the local Yambulagang Tombs, Samye Gompa and Lhasa city itself - with highlights including the Tibetan Barkhor neighborhood surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the Potala Palace - before the famous "Friendship Highway" guides us across the historic overland route from Lhasa to Kathmandu - climbing over high passes and through deep, breathtaking gorges.
Detail Itinerary
Day Day 01: Activities KATHMANDU (1300) - ZHANGHU (2500M) NYALAM 3700M): 123KM/156KM Early morning scenic drive to kowari (Nepal Tibet border) through the beautiful Nepalese country side and after necessary border formalities at Nepalese immigration, an hour adventurous uphill drive by truck (normally ) or 2 hour walk up hill (in case of landslide) to Chinese immigration, check-in two hotel or continue drive to NYALAM. Over tight at hotel.
Day 02:
ZHANGMU/NYALAM- TINGRI (4300m)/LHATSE (4350m):225km/244km Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with the typical view of Tibetan landscape offering sheer feeling of standing on the roof of the world crossing over LALUNGLA (5,050m), from where, weather permitting, breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges including MT CHO OYU (8201m) & MT XISHAPAGMA (8012m) but dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau. From TINGRI, one can enjoy the magnificence of MT. EVEREST (8,848m).Overnight at hotel.
Day 03:
TINGRI/LHATSE-XIGATSE (3900M):244KM Continue since drive crossing over GYATCHU LA (5,220M), highest pass on route to LHASA via LHATSE from where a road to MT KAILASH bifurcates to the west. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04:
XIGATSE GYANTSE (3950M):90KM Morning sightseeing to the PANCHEN LAMASTASHILHUMPU MONASTERY. Drive to GYANTSE and visit to the KUMBUM STUPA & PHALKOR MONASTERY. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05:
GYANTSE-LHASA (3650M):261KM Full day picturesque drive crossing over KAROLA (5010m), KAMBALA (4794m), colorful YAMDROK LAKE and the Tibetan lifeline river BRAHMA PUTRA (YARLUNG TSANGPO)- Overnight at hotel.
Day 0607:
IN LHASA Two full days sightseeing tour to LHASA including JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR BAZAR, and POTALA PALACE DREPUNG & SERA MONASTERIES. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08:
LHASA-KATHMANDU Early morning drive to GONGGAR airport for departure flight to KATHMANDU or to your onward destination
