    Jesus die in the cross for us, for to clean our sins and give us a new opportunity of live and the eternity salvation

    The holy week is celebrated with ritual, traditions in commemoration the live, passion, die and resurrection of Jesus

    4. Which one are the most famous "Semana Santa Celebrations" in Colombia? Many cities are recognized in Colombia for his celebrations in commemoration a holy week, in the most important are: Popayan, Mompox, Tunja and Pasto. These cities are famous for his processions in live, historic monuments, religious music concerts, expositions of religious art and the participation his habitants in all celebrations

    5. Why did the church celebrate people The Resurrection of Jesus On Sunday? For the church the Sunday is related with the begin of the a new creation when Christ come in his glory and begin a new world equal that resurrection Christ celebrate your victory over sin and death and a new life for the Christians . This day is called the day of the Lord

    The resurrection represent eternal life is celebrated gifting chocolate eggs decorated, because the eggs are a life symbol

    7. Why does the date of Easter change from year to year?


    The holy week is celebrated the first Sunday after the first full moon the equinox of spring falling between 22 march and 25 April. The church set on holy Thursday in the present full moon between March and April and taking this date in the center the liturgical year, the other dates move in relation with this date therefore some celebrations vary one or two weeks.

    8. What happened at the first "Easter"?


    Palm Sunday Jesus entered to Jerusalem and was received for the people. He did miracles and went to Betania
    The Monday he went to Jerusalem again and cursed the fig tree that doesnt give fruits and throw the Pharisees to the church and return to Betania Tuesday back to Jerusalem and worked all day to teaching your doctrine. This day in the afternoon the pontiffs decides to kill him

    Wednesday went to Betania with your apostles in the Lazaros house with Marta and Maria. Jesus was preparing a sacrifice for your Father while your enemies is preparing to last hour

    Thursday in the afternoon goes to Jerusalem was in the last dinner, He washed the feet of his disciples and goes to pray in the garden

    The Friday was questioned for Herodes and Pilatos, whipped, crowned with spines and crucified, He die at 3:00 pm and led to the grave

    Saturday in the grave custodied for the soldiers

    And the Sunday resurrected glorious and triumphant

    9. How is the "Holy Week" celebrated in the U.S.A.?

    Usually do not celebrated the holy week in USA, in this Country is celebrated the thanksgiving day.

    10. Where did you go on Holy Week this year?


    I went to Ibague with my family. We went to many processions, and my ritual favorite was Easter Vigil also called blessing the fire and water.
    Ibague is called a musical city of Colombia, We enjoy a sacra musical festival
