CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL October 1 2013

On October 16th, Clements will be administering college and career readiness tests to students. 9th grade students will take ACT Plan http://www.act.org/products/k-12-act-plan/ 10th grade students will take PSAT http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/ about.html 11th grade students will take PSAT http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/ about.html FBISD pays for all students in grades 9-11 to take these exams. Students are already registered. 12th grade students will be attending a college presentation in the auditorium.

Fort Bend ISD will host two College Nights, one on October 1 and another on October 3, to give current high school juniors and seniors, and their parents or guardians, the opportunity to learn about educational opportunities available from accredited colleges and universities. Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities (as well as trade and technical schools) from across the nation will be

Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities (as well as trade and technical schools) from across the nation will be available to meet with students and their families to share information regarding admission requirements, financial aid, student housing, and more!

DISTRICT COLLEGE NIGHTS


The first College Night will be held on Tuesday, October 1, at Kempner High School (14777 Voss Road, Sugar Land, 77498), from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The second College Night will be held on Thursday, October 3, at Hightower High School (3333 Hurricane Lane, Missouri City, 77459), from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Octathlon
Freshmen and sophomores, want an inside edge on making the Decathlon Team? Start early with Octathlon. Come for a short meeting after school in Room 2512 (aka Mr. Browns room), 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, October 2. P.S., You can still make band practice.

YEARBOOK NEWS
Seniors If you havent taken your senior portrait, please contact Prestige Photographers in order to set up your shoot. retake for pictures is Oct 10th during all 3 lunches. Also send summer vacation pictures for the yearbook to Images.balfour.com project number 40425 with no password Senior ads are now on sale, fill out the contract and make sure you get it to room 2810 or to a yearbook staffer.

PRO GRAD
Pro-Grad is partnering with Stellaz for retail promotion at First Colony Mall on Wed., October 2nd. Stellaz is a Ladies Fashion Accessory & Jewelry store located near Visible Changes. CHS ProGrad 2014 will receive 20% of sales and a $5.00 gift card for next time purchase. Please drop your receipt in the box for CHS ProGrad to receive credit for your purchase.

PRO GRAD
Seniors can also earn hours by joining either the Clements Facebook page, Twitter, or the newly added Instagram. If a student joins, likes and shares one of our three social media pages, it is worth 1 hour to him or her. Save the date our next ProGrad meeting is October 7th.

anyone who wants to join UIL spelling can come and talk to me (Miss. Anderson) before or after school in Rm 1136UIL Spelling will look great on any college resume & scholarship opportunities are also available.

Habitat for Humanity


clubs first meeting will be held on Oct 3rd at 2:45 in DLH H4H is also having a t-shirt design contest for t-shirts this year. Submit proposals on Facebook page or room 2330 to Mrs. Goeke. The deadline for the designs is Oct 10. The winner of the contest gets a free Habitat for Humanity t-shirt!!! -

Meets after school on Wednesdays in the Special Education hallway. Come hit some ping pong balls and make new friends.

CHS RHYTHM
So you think you can dance? For any students who want to dance, think they can dance or just want to learn how to dance, join Clements Rhythm on Fridays in Mr. Usangas room or dance room.
