    Marattiopsida, about 150 species
    Polypodiopsida (leptosporangiate ferns), over
    9000 species

    Psilotopsida is a class of fern-like plants.

    Class Lycopociopsida

    Class Equiseptopsida
    Equisetopsida comes from the word equus that means
    horse and seta meaning stalk.
    Class Equisetopsida have sporangium that arranged in
    strobilus and has a shape like a horse's tail. Elater spores have as
    many as 4 pieces. Example of Equisetopsida is Equisetum.

    Class Marrattiopsida
    The Marattiaceae is one of two groups of ferns
    traditionally known as eusporangiate fern, meaning
    that the sporangium is formed from a group of cells
    vs the leptosporangium in which there is a single
    initial cell.

    Class Polypodiopsida
    These ferns are also called
    leptosporangiate because their sporangia

    ferns.

    sporangium, which ejects the spores.

    fleshy rootstocks and the largest
    known fronds of any fern.
    The sporangium is formed from a
    group of cells vs the
    leptosporangium in which there is
    a single initial cell.

    Big size of leaves, the pedestal of


    leaves pinnated.
    In type of land fern, formed
    sporangium in sorus. While in type
    of water fern, formed sporangium
    in spokarpium.
    Young leaves curl or rolled up,
    and the sorus formed under the
    leaves surface.
