Peguam McDonalds, tindakan McCurry jelas merupakan cubaan untuk mendapatkan


keistimewaan secara tidak adil yang telah menjejaskan reputasi McDonalds yang
selama ini dikenali dengan jenama Mc. Peguam yang mewakili McCurry pula mendakwa,
McCurry dicipta berdasarkan huruf singkatan Malaysian Chicken Curry, yang
jelas merupakan konsep. McDonalds menang kes tu.Disebabkan tak puas hati, taukeh
Restoran McCurry buat rayuan kes ini ke Mahkamah Rayuan.Akhirnya setelah menimbang
semasak-masaknya, tiga hakim yang membicarakan kes itu mendapati hakim sebelum ini
tersilap ketika mengandaikan McDonalds mempunyai monopoli terhadap
penggunaan huruf awalan Mc. Menurut Hakim Mahkamah Rayuan, Datuk Gopal Sri,
McCurry tidak sama dengan McDonalds dari segi stail dan makanan jualannya kerana ia
hanya menjual makanan India manakala restoran itu menjual makanan segera seperti
burger dan kentang goreng.

Peperangan harta intelek antara Samsung dan Apple kembali panas hari ini apabila Apple memfailkan dua lagi
aduan terhadap Samsung. Apple ingin menyaman Samsung kerana dikatakan meniru dua lagi paten milik Apple
dan salah satunya berkaitan dengan fungsi autocorrect yang digunakan pada sistem operasi iOS. Apple
memegang paten bernombor 8,074,172 iaitu Kaedah, sistem, dan antaramuka pengguna grafik untuk
menyediakan cadangan perkataan yang diberikan kepada mereka oleh Jabatan Paten Amerika Syarikat pada
Disember tahun lalu.

Kes terbaru ini unik kerana Apple menyaman Samsung atas dasar peniruan antara muka sistem operasi iOS
dan bukan peniruan rekabentuk perkakasan seperti sebelum ini. Pemfailan dua kes terbaru ini bermakna Apple
kini mempunyai 12 kes saman terhadap Samsung yang masih belum selesai. Nampaknya Apple benar-benar
berusaha untuk memastikan pencabar utama mereka didalam pasaran peranti pintar dapat dihapuskan. Apple
masih belum berpuas hati walaupun mereka kini memegang lebih dari 75% pasaran peranti pintar dunia.
