INTRODUCTION
The oil industry has reached the point where a
substantial understanding of the physical principles
related to the development and production of oil and
gas accumulation, is a prerequisite to the maximum
recovery of Hydrocarbon at minimum cost
DEFINITIONS
Resevoirlogy:-
Is a unique word, streaming from the combination of
two words “RESERVOIR” and “LOGY” which means
“Reservoir Studies”
Which is a major process in the E & P business
DEFINITIONS
Integrated: webstar dictionary:- It is a combination of
separate and diverse elements of units into a more
complete or harmonious whole.
In the E&P domain.: it is primarily concerned with the
manner in which different Disciplines are combined to
improve on an established (or create a new) analytical
process.
E&P:- means Exploration and Production or also known
as Oil and Gas industry.
objective
How different disciplines play major roles in the E&P
business
How they are integrated for better Efficiency and
quality delivery
Less time to execute projects
Low cost

Geophysicst
The major objective of a geophysicist is to recognize
the actual subsurface geologic structure of the earth,
which has obvious value towards the exploitation of
hydrocarbons.
Though they also do other works which are very
important in the characterizing of the reservoir.

PETROPHYSICST
Petrophysics is the study of rock properties and their
interactions with fluid (gases, liquid hydrocarbons, and
aqueous solutions)
The main objective of petrophysics is to identify and
quantify hydrocarbon in the subsurface and evaluate
the fluid as well as rock properties
The petrophysicist rely mostly on indirect methods to
measure down hole rock and fluid properties
These data acquisition is based on principles of physics
such as resistivity, radioactivity, nuclear, acoustic,
magnetic resonance etc

TOOLS OF PETROPHYSICST
Petroleum geologist
Generally, the duty of a petroleum geologist is to
discover the location and amount of useful fuel in
sediments or reservoirs.
They are may be required to interpret geophysical
information in project reports,
conduct field studies to analyze project data
Accurately estimate fuel amounts, interpret and
implement drilling strategies for extraction and create
post-project reports summarizing the project.

Resevoir Engineer
Reservoir engineering is a branch of petroleum
engineering that applies scientific principles to the
drainage problems arising during the development
and production of oil and gas reservoirs so as to obtain
a high economic recovery.
They also play a central role in field development
planning, recommending appropriate and cost
effective reservoir depletion schemes such as
waterflooding or gas injection to maximize
hydrocarbon recovery.

HOW IS THE STUDY DONE
Basically there is a chain of workflow from Geology to
engineering
Where by the earth/reservoir is defined and modeled BY
the geologist and the Engineers are to dynamically
simulate the model to see the behavior after a period
of time.
