Microscopically, the mole appears as a friable, cystic, grapelike mass consisting of swollen, edematous villi. The chorionic villi are enlarged and scalloped in shape with central cavitation, covered by extensive trophoblast proliferation around the entire circumference of the villi. The mole involves abnormal proliferation of the trophoblast in all or most of the villous tissue.

    GROSS APPEARANCE
    Delicate
    Friable mass of thin walled
    Translucent
    Cystic
    Grapelike structures consisting of swollen
    edematous(hydropic) villi
    COMPLETE HYFATIDIFORM MOLE
    COMPLETE H.MOLE showing swollen,vesicular ,garpe like
    villi.There is no fetus
    MICROSCOPIC ABNORMALITIES
    Involve all or most of the viloous tissue

    CHORIONIC VILLI
    Enlarged
    Scalloped in shape with central cavitation(cistern)
    Covered by extensive trophoblast proliferation that
    involves the entire circumference of the villi
    Marked villous enlargement, edema and
    circumferential trophoblast proliferation
