INTRODUCTION
 Roads indirectly contribute to the economic growth of the
country
 Roads are normally placed with speed breakers that are used
to control the speed of the vehicle.
 Likewise, potholes are formed due to
oil spills
heavy rains
movement of heavy vehicles.
 we have proposed a system that would notify the drivers
regarding any hurdles such as potholes and humps and this
information can be used by the Government to correct these
roads effectively.
BLOCK DIAGRAM
METHODOLOGY

 The ultrasonic sensor is used for measuring the depth of a

pothole and height of a hump.

 The data obtained from ultrasonic sensor is displayed on the

LCD display and sent to the Wi-Fi module.

 The Wi-Fi module transmits the data to the server or device

to maintain the database of potholes and humps.

 The GPS receiver obtains the location co-ordinates of the

detected pothole or humps and then transmits them to the
microcontroller which then can be eventually displayed on
the LCD display.

ADVANTAGES
 Advantage of this system is that it can detect
potholes and object in the way.

 It is user friendly and can fit on multiple vehicle.

 This system can reduce the accidents.

 Determining Traffic Intensity using server updates

for a particular pothole
FUTURE SCOPE
 The proposed system considers the presence of
potholes and humps. This can be further extended
by generating the data and gets repaired by
concerned authorities periodically.

 Also, Google maps and SATNAV can be

integrated in the future system to improve user
experience.
CONCLUSION
• it automatically detects the potholes and humps
and sends the information regarding this to the
vehicle drivers

• This system helps us to avoid dreadful potholes,

humps and to avoid any tragic accidents due to
bad road conditions.

• The information can also be used by the

Government authorities for the maintenance of
the roads.
