    A Basti which will not induce any


    type of
    discomfort or disorder even after
    daily
    administration is known as anuvasana
    basti
    BASTI VIDHI

    PURVA KARMA

    1.abhyanga
    2.swedana
    3.snehana basti
    PRADHANA KARMA
     Patient must be in left lateral position
     Oleation of the anal region & basti netra
     While introducing the basti netra the
    patient must be asked to take deep breath
     Trembling of the hands must be avoided,
     Basti dravya should not be allowed to move
    too fast or too slow
     The total basti dravya should not be
    introduced in order to avoid entrance of
    vayu into pakwasaya which may produce
    pain.
     Basti tube should be immediately
    pulled out after the introduction of the
    drugs
     Patient should remain in a lying
    posture for half a minute after the
    introduction of basti dravya
     Then he can attend the natural call if
    he feels like passing stools
    PASCAT KARMA
     2-3 hrs after the complete evacuation of basti dravya
    , patient should take bath with lukewarm water
     As per the prakrti & dosa vitiation viz.vata,pitta&
    kapha, the patient should be given meat soup , milk
    ,& gruel respectively
     Following activities should be avoided after basti
    karma (1.sitting or standing posture for a long
    duration , 2.excessive talk,travel,day sleep,
    supression of urges , exposure to
    cold,sunlight,anxiety,anger etc)
